Donald Trump took to Truth Social Wednesday morning saying he's asked Gianni Infantino to look into last night's game against Belgium as the USA team were " ... treated very badly and unfairly by the referee .. " and that "... FIFA has serious questions to answer ... " after appointing a " ... sub-standard Bosnian referee ... " for the match. Sources close the president say he asked Infantino in a late-night call to review two of the Belgian goals and to declare the result void it order that it can be decided "fairly" by a special game of 30 minutes extra time or on penalties. FIFA have yet to comment.

This one would be a surprise if it weren't for the track record of the Trump administration repeatedly showing its willingness to choose a despicable course of action, given multiple options.

In March of 2025, the Trump administration adopted a policy of providing the Iranian government with confidential information from the immigration files of Iranians seeking asylum in the United States. The asylum seekers include pro-democracy protestors, members of religious minorities such as Evangelical Christians, or members of the LGBTQ community who seek refuge in the United States because of the grave dangers they face in Iran. Disclosing their confidential information to the Iranian government violates federal regulations requiring confidentiality, endangers their family members and acquaintances who may still be residing in Iran, and puts those who are subject to removal to Iran at risk of persecution, torture, and death following their arrival in Iran.

Representing the Iranian American Legal Defense Fund, we filed a lawsuit against Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and other members of the Trump administration to stop the illegal sharing of confidential immigration files of Iranian asylum seekers with the Iranian government. The lawsuit asks the court to order the U.S. government to stop sharing asylum-applicant information with the government of Iran and to provide notice to all Iranian asylum seekers whose information was unlawfully shared with the Iranian government.

A federal judge has tossed a $3.8 billion defamation lawsuit filed by President Donald Trump’s social media company against the Washington Post, dealing a sharp defeat to Trump Media and Technology Group.

U.S. District Judge Thomas Barber, based in Tampa, ruled that Trump Media “failed to present evidence that would allow a jury to find by clear and convincing evidence” that the Post “published the allegedly defamatory statements with actual malice.”
