Sun Tzu: Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.
Trump: Victorious warriors drop bombs first, then figure the rest out later.
Sun Tzu: Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night.
Your enemy cannot guess your plan if you do not have one.
There is no instance of a country having benefited from prolonged warfare.
Trump: Prolonged warfare may not benefit the country, but the distraction may benefit you personally.
Sun Tzu: The good leader is full of caution.
Trump: The good leader is full of himself.

if the rump of the republic were serious about obliteration, there'd be two or three braces of LA class boomers not too far from iran (maybe not in the Red sea, or the Mediterranean, as neither the allied arabs nor the nazisraeli would be happy to have nukes flying right over them, even in a ballistic bell curve trajectory), and the main military sites of the country would be turned to radioactive glass... who cares that the tunnels are too deep to be reached if the access ways are permanently blocked.

Wow, Trump and over 70% of high school graduates cannot do math
Me: if i tell a high school graduate in the us that in an election one party won by 15%, how many of them can calculate the two numbers?
Google AI: Based on national assessment data, approximately 22% to 25% of U.S. high school graduates are likely to correctly calculate the two individual percentages (57.5% and 42.5%) from a 15% margin of victory.
NAGB (.gov) +2
While a larger group of about 55% reaches a "basic" level of math, official reports from the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) indicate that nearly half of high school seniors (45%) perform below the basic level and likely cannot apply knowledge of percentages to solve real-world problems.
More:
For someone with strong number sense, the mental shortcut is instant: you start at the 50/50 "tie" mark and move half the margin (7.5%) up and half the margin down.
While it feels like basic arithmetic to you, many students struggle because they:
Overcomplicate the setup: They try to use complex algebra when simple balancing would work.
Lack "Fluency": They might know how to solve for
on a worksheet but fail to translate a real-world sentence into a math problem.
Fall for the "Subtract from 100" trap: A common gut reaction is to say "100 - 15 = 85," then get stuck trying to figure out how to make 85 and 15 work together.

seriously, not surprised, education has taken a nasty dip all over the western world since, say, the 60s. I know I would quite possibly have failed to graduate from high school (or would have done so with a less honorable grade than I actually did) if I had to take the same exames my parents did, and similarly, I'm still better educated than the gen z kids graduating high school since 2010.
I admit I suck at maths because I could never get passing grades in middle and high school, but I still have a full primary education baggage.
what you show is that modern folk can't even make a substraction.

I did a bit of algebra in the lab all the years. It helped to have done the "train A goes at bla bla bla and train B goes twice as fast...where fo they meet?" ..type of word problems. I would have two variables and some equations for the lab. Excel would draw graphs, if we were just looking for a maximum yield.

...it was hard to tell from where we were huddled under a tablecloth—were pushing their way through mounds of people, climbing over chairs, rushing to the stage, where President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump just moments before had been seated.

Just before 8:40 p.m., trays of plates and tableware fell to the floor with a crash and they screamed “Get down! Get down! Get under the table! Abajo! Abajo! ” There was at least one popping sound from the north end of the ballroom. People by the ballroom doors started to duck. Then plainclothes security rushed through the door.

One attendee sitting in the upper level of the ballroom right by the doors said he heard five or six hollow shots close by, and saw a Secret Service agent with his gun drawn, backing down towards the ballroom, before diving under the tables. Andrew Kolvet, a Turning Point USA spokesman who was seated at a table near the dais, said he heard a “pop pop.”

MAGA is mad by now, but shooter not really MAGA other than mostly right wing
According to his LinkedIn profile, Allen graduated from the California Institute of Technology in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, and received a master’s degree in computer science from California State University-Dominguez Hills last year.

While at CalTech, he was a member of the school’s Christian fellowship and the nerf club, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He was featured in a CalTech graduation announcement posted by the university in 2017 on Facebook, which included a picture of him as an adult wearing a cardigan and a photo of him as a beaming young child holding a stuffed bunny.

As a student at Caltech, Allen was featured in a local news report in 2017 for developing a prototype emergency brake for wheelchairs.

On his LinkedIn, Allen wrote that he was “currently developing a second game, working name ‘First Law.’”

Allen donated $25 to Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign in October 2024, according to Federal Election Commission records.
