Re: What Are You Watching Now?
The AIDS pandemic never ended, was only interrupted by the flow of cheap meds, that'll change soon with the oil crisis. Then they'll need to make a new season for this I guess?
If your gonna raise your fight to Rome vs Carthage remember don't play Carthage
Re: What Are You Watching Now?
How to make myself feel verra old
actually production values pretty good considering the age...Olivia Newton John looking and sounding terrific.
I do like musicals...
Think the sound at least was remastered ...maybe the whole film....been a very long time.
My room mate in uni had one of these

Nicole Kidman looking very different
good reviews, a bit gruesome, good so far...
Nice to see Jamie Lee Curtis tho she's a bit over the top

Good segue here
forgotten how good this is
has anyone ever read Body Guard of Lies??
It came out in the late 90s when the tranche of secret documents from wwII were released.
It overturned everything I thought I knew about the war.
Even Churchills purported memoirs, Darkest Hour etc were a part of the conspiracy to keep what actually happened a secret
I was blown away by the revelations and the horror of the decisions high command - both US and UK - had to make to keep the secret.
At one point there were only 8 people in the world who knew the full scope of the what the code breaking revealed.
The fooling of the Germans on D-Day was only one of many stories
Only Donetz - the Uboat head suspected and changed the Uboats to an improved coding that stumped the Allies for a while - then I think the Allies stole a machine from a supposedly sunk submarine and they broke that.
No need to write fiction when stories like this are around.
Of course Orwell knew and tried to expose the immense world wide conspiracy behind the war effort hidden even from Stalin…..
One of those “ you can’t make these things up” moments in history
