To allow for longer lines and more special characters (such as umlauts, etc.), an encoding called "Quoted-Printable" was invented. This method uses equal signs to encode specific characters and to mark line breaks that should be ignored during display.
However, some software cannot handle this correctly. In such cases, these equal signs before line breaks may be displayed, and subsequent letters might even be deleted.
The conspiracy theory bubble is unaware of this and is currently desperately trying to decode this obvious "secret code."
