To hear Vance and others say it, they only want “Heritage Americans,” people whose families came before the Civil War because the country belongs to them. Anyone whose families came after that (my grandmother’s family immigrated from Germany in 1929) don’t belong in their plans. I think a lot of MAGA don’t realize how narrow their scope of “real Americans” is.

He's gone beyond the ability of satirists to reproduce the outright incoherence of his comments, to the point where, if you can tell what point a parody is making, it's too clearly stated to be real.
