Re: All Things Canada Eh
Ah, but Sunak was elected onto the greasy pole, ultimately holding the two highest offices in govt (treasury minister and then PM) while also running a very successful hedge fund and amassing a personal fortune of c.£700m - and with his wife a combined fortune of over £1bn. By elite standards his wealth alone makes him eminently qualified to run a country, even putting aside over a decade's worth of political experience.macdoc wrote:except he had 10 years as a politician before his PM run nor is his CV comparable to Carney but you think what you want. We know you don't like elites.Yeah - the very same thing was said about Rishi Sunak.
It's interesting that you think political experience at the heart of govt reflects badly on Sunak's CV, but the absence of it in Carney qualifies him for the top job in Canadian politics. I guess my question to you is: why do you love elites so much?

Even if Trump, and Canada wanted to, it still requires 3/4 of the States to accept Canada into the union. And we dont take these decisions lightly

A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Not what I said at all...let me help you read it again...
Do you think Carney went to a foreign country, to access WORSE health care and other services?
He chose (as MANY do) to pay for better services, in a foreign country, and to pay taxes to that foreign country.
If he's allowed to do that, and still be considered 'decent', then why can't a country vote to do the same?
Unless of course 'democracy' is a sham, and people shouldn't be allowed to vote on consequential issues...

Have you seen the meme "...more government"?

In my opinion, he just doesn't mind it.Bank Accounts still being frozen in Canada 2025
Pierre Poilievre never calls out the Far-Left Authoritarianism. Why not?
Wycliff goes on in a tweet after the video...
To be fair there could be more to the story..
but it's certainly interesting timing that a PPC candidate known for opposing the gender ideology gets her funds frozen by the Canadian government during an election cycle.

How does one recognize when a trial is a 'show trial', or otherwise not fair?

Max hasn't got a hope. Canada wants 'more government'.It is disheartening to learn that two of the heroes of the Freedom Convoy,
@LichTamara
and
@ChrisBarber1975
, have been found guilty of mischief in the longest and one of the costliest trials in Canadian history.
This clearly was a political witch hunt.
Meanwhile, Trudeau and his ministers who illegally invoked the Emergencies Act and violated basic rights will go unpunished.
Our justice system is corrupt to the bones.

Their actions got everyone the right to choose if they wanted to lockdown or not.

That's the beautiful thing about what the trucker protest accomplished for Canada, and the world. You get to choose if you lockdown, use a vaccine or other medication, keep that info private or public. All kinds of choice.
Lockdowns weren't doing a whole lot of good anyway. I mean, unless a person held shares in amazon lol

Trying to save lives is a weakness - the strong will always survive, along with those favoured by the righteous hand of the Almighty - but actually saving lives is, well, you know, woke, and probably a bit gay.
