The funny thing is that Brian might well say the same thing, from a totally different political perspective. For me, the differences between political parties in Western democracies may be small, given that they are all invested in maintaining the basic capitalist system, but those small policy differences may still mean real differences in the lives of most people, and so are worth a discriminating choice in voting...

It seems like his style, to say things at 100 and settle in 'the middle' for 50. I think it's called 'the big ask'. Anyway, it doesn't matter much to me, because the more interesting thing is the question it raises...

Who will he make his offer to? Will he buy it from King Chuck? Offer citizens money? Or just take over in a quiet, corporate way and give nothing at all to King and Citizenry?

I can believe that. Between Trump's tariffs and his 51st state idiocy, Canadians have every right to be pissed.

Annexation will never happen. Trump may not have thought it through, but you know Thune and Johnson have done the math and know that Canada as a state would politically be another California, having a huge impact on the Electoral College. Since Congress admits new states, that's not happening.
