If you are speaking of the pronouns they may prefer, I think it's polite to use them, but if they get all cranky when some people don't use them, I'd tell them to chill...

In the Criminal Code, which does not reference pronouns, Cossman says misusing pronouns alone would not constitute a criminal act.

“The misuse of gender pronouns, without more, cannot rise to the level of a crime,” she says. “It cannot rise to the level of advocating genocide, inciting hatred, hate speech or hate crimes … (it) simply cannot meet the threshold.”

The Canadian Human Rights Act does not mention pronouns either. The act protects certain groups from discrimination.

That is correct. Sex decisions are (in the opinion of most people) best left to adults.

When I learned about the ethical freak community, there were very simple rules:

Consenting adults.

So how do YOU define 'far-left-extremist' in gender ideology? Feel free to decline if you don't want to. It is starting to sound like you don't want to answer that.

In gender identity? I don't really know. Maybe my niece in NYC, She's quite far left generally, but we haven't talked specifically about gender identity.

In general, people like Ward Churchill, the Betsy Riot folks, Willem Van Spronsen, and more mainstream but way left in American terms, RFK and Cornel West come to mind

I'll look more closely at Sidhbh Gallagher, but so far I haven't seen any policy positions from her. She does have a book on medical and surgical transition, but I don't know if it has any policy recommendations.

I suggest noting, while you search, the supportive articles and how the language games play in.

Much like yourself, I haven't heard any prominent democrat politician describe a line that is 'too far' for gender ideology. She certainly is, to me. What with yeeting the teets of children (or whatever you call mid-teens victims)

If you can't say what is 'too far', maybe taking in the Cole/Pederson interview and having a human face to the damage, could help clarify. There are other (worse) cases, but I don't know that they are as accessible.

I've already said what is too far: 200 million girls and women are victims of forced genital mutilation, including an estimated half-million in the US, and 100,000 in Canada.

That shapes my perspective on this. I keep in mind that plastic surgeons are miles above the miserable hacks that butcher the poor girls in ability and quality of their facilities, so I don't view it as mutilation. The surgeon is building new genitals, not simply destroying them.

Also, this is an elective instead of a forced procedure, and a citizen's right of self-determination weighs strongly in my consideration.

With that in mind, my main concern would be the level of maturity required to make this decision, and when parental involvement is necessary. While my ideal would be to wait for adulthood, there are clinical factors in gender identity disorders that might make earlier interventions necessary according to what I've read so far.

Note the emphasis on "might." There are differing opinions on that, but reading the clinical information makes it clear that gender dysphoria is a serious diagnosis, and like some other mental illnesses, carries a significantly higher risk of self-harm and/or suicide.

Chloe Cole's case suggests there may be some need for regulation, but her case hasn't been decided and there aren't many cases to provide guidance to regulators, and that leads to my second main concern. Our lawmakers are moving way too fast on way too little evidence to abridge the freedoms of the people they represent, and most of the arguments I've heard are the same emotion-based ones you've made here.

It's not a good case for a big government solution.
