https://thehill.com/newsletters/morning ... srael-aid/The Hill’s Aris Folley breaks down five things to watch on the party’s funding strategy.
A GOP bill to provide $14.3 billion for Israel would not increase the U.S.
deficit because it would be offset in the budget by rescinding the same amount of funding for the IRS, House Republicans said Monday (NBC News). The Rules Committee will consider the measure, which pointedly picks a fight with Biden and Democrats, when the House returns Wednesday. A vote is expected as early as this week.
Meanwhile, Johnson is facing a three-pronged test in his first full week as the House’s top lawmaker as members of both parties look to take disciplinary action against their political opponents. The Hill’s Mychael Schnell reports the three resolutions up for a vote this week — on censuring Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and expelling Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) — will put a spotlight on his ability to manage the fractious GOP conference and steer the entire chamber after a blistering three-week fight that left him with the gavel.

The wealthy and powerful will be delighted to have an emasculated IRS...
Republicans simply following the orders of corporate America...

My general feeling is fewer government workers is best. But a fair tax system is needed to make that work.
'Fair' and 'lots of agents and lawyers' seem to clash a bit. I bet they make an absolutely human amount of mistakes.

"fewer government workers" makes it easier for the lawyers of the wealthy to pay ridiculously low amounts of tax.
But Cunt, I suppose you really want corporate America to get all the advantages they possibly can...

Are you coming out in favour of more government workers?
I still don't know if you are an 'equity' or 'equality' guy, but that doesn't seem to fit either type.

No, I'm coming out in favour of not hugely reducing IRS agents numbers, a ploy by Republicans to help their wealthy backers.
I thought you were suspicious of powerful corporations, Cunt...

Re: Republicans: continued
Right, so more workers.
Both parties answer to their wealthy backers. The Dems #2 backer is being prosecuted right now (though not for the political chickanerie, of course)
And you think more government workers will catch alleged criminal political funding scams?
How about the 'ActBlue' scams? Any interest? Or is that one ok because it benefits dems?
Keep avoiding the question of equity vs equality. It shows nicely.

But are we equal commies or equitable commies, because these ideas are mutually exclusive and antagonistic, and we can only be one or the other?pErvinalia wrote:We're all communists apparently, Jim.

There should be as many government workers as private sector workers. How else can we keep track of all the cheaters. Every tax payer to be interrogated in person by these in person.

Tuberville...holding up appointment...using weird rule: Starting with a "senatorial hold" on what was then 150 personnel moves waiting for approval in batches, he is now up to at least 270 — and counting.
