Re: Republicans: continued
The losers are having a fight:
Upping the pressure another notch, a coalition of conservatives on Wednesday blocked an effort to advance legislation funding the Pentagon over demands for deeper spending cuts — amid increased conversations over potentially ousting the Speaker.
The tension was evident the next morning.
“If you want to file a motion to vacate, then file the f‑‑‑ing motion,” McCarthy said during a closed-door GOP conference meeting on Thursday, according to Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.).
Gaetz responded by saying McCarthy should better handle his emotions.
“Instead of emotionally cursing, maybe the Speaker should just keep his word from January on balanced budgets, term limits and single-subject spending bills,” Gaetz told The Hill.
Asked if there were any ongoing efforts to negotiate between just the two men, Gaetz claimed McCarthy “never calls, he never writes.”
“There’s not much to negotiate."

Re: Republicans: continued
The latest fad is a poverty social. Every woman must wear calico,
and every man his old clothes. In addition each is fined 25 cents if
he or she does not have a patch on his or her clothing. If these
parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

That singing alone would do it for me:
Yahoo
Ann Coulter, a conservative pundit and writer, responded to news of the incident with a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing: "Totally embarrassing bimbo."
Boebert, 36, a hard right-wing Colorado congresswoman, attended a performance of the musical "Beetlejuice" last weekend.
Video footage obtained by local Denver news outlet 9News shows her being thrown out of the theater along with her date after she vaped and sang loudly during the show.

They ever get the video of whoever left cocaine in the white house? Or is that too tough to catch on video?

Re: Republicans: continued
(Newsweek)Social media users have sparked a new theory relating to the CCTV footage of Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert in which she was seen vaping and inappropriately touching her male companion at a Denver theater last week.
"It turns out Lauren Boebert's mystery man is a Democrat bar owner. If I was a wagering enthusiast, I would bet this guy was paid to set her up. She's coming off a divorce, and she's vulnerable. This guy comes into her life, charms her, seduces her and then probably gets her liquored up and takes her out in public. Stage set," journalist Liz Crokin, wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
"He then instigates her by fondling her in a theater that just happens to have night vision cameras right on them. Then the whole incident is released to the public in what looks like high-definition video in an attempt to harm her reputation.
Re: Republicans: continued
Yes, they should set up a video camera for the White House cocaine bandit. Or Epsteins cell. Or the J6 pipe bomb.
Or there is video of all those things, but it's for our own good to only get the Boebert video.

Re: Republicans: continued
As a result of Boebert's, uh mishap, she has a new political challenger from the Libertarian party.
Lauren Boebert draws Libertarian challenger in Colorado's 3rd Congressional District
It's the guy on the right.

Re: Republicans: continued
It's complicated, yet it's not. McCarthy could have developed some relationship with a few democrats. He did not.
https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/20/politics ... index.html....So handing a win to the critical Republicans on whom the GOP majority depends may be a poor strategy. And a partnership might also have the effect of bailing McCarthy out of a situation in which his conference looks incapable and dysfunctional and from which Democrats can profit.
On the other hand, Democrats might enjoy the optics of hijacking the House chamber and making the speaker look even weaker. Intrigue about a potential revenge of the moderates spiked on Tuesday after Republican Rep. Mike Lawler, from a New York swing district, said he was open to working with Democrats.
“If the clown show of colleagues that refuse to actually govern doesn’t want to pass the CR, I will do everything we need to make sure that a CR passes,” Lawler said.
McCarthy also faces far-right demands to include conservative immigration provisions and slash federal funding for the three prosecutors who have secured criminal indictments of former President Donald Trump, the front-runner in the polls in the 2024 GOP primary.

Re: Republicans: continued
If McCarthy passes a budget with Democrat votes, the GOP will oust him as speaker. Then the senate passes a modified version...then what?

This is where the GOP is today, where a bipartisan solution is considered worse than anything.
