I'm old enough to remember when we treated mental illness rather than indulged it. Imagine if the previous social contagion of anorexia had been subject to affirmation from healthcare providers.

With that said, if an adult male wants to turn themself into a eunuch or an adult female wants to cut her perfectly healthy tits off based on a delusion, then they're adults and can make that decision. Children lack the capacity. Puberty is not a disease.

I believe that only a very small percentage of 'tomboys' are transgender, and agreed it is complicated.

Just imagine you'd been raised as a girl, and then at some point you began to realise that wasn't who you felt like. Only a little empathy is needed here Svarty.

My comment was about "knowing" at an early age. Trans are a small percentage anyways and was in response to not being able to know ...some do and exhibit it early even if they could not articulate it.
