Police officers like teachers don't get paid well. There are good people in both jobs, especially teachers. But they do have to recruit kind of borderline cases. I remember the suburban cops in St Louis being a bit dim. I just had to be patient when they wrote me a traffic ticket. What did impress me was that the one alone was not allowed to give me a ticket. He had to wait for another cop to come and witness the radar reading for my speed.
