According to Iltalehti, the Swedish Minister of Finance, Mikael Damberg , and Swedish business leaders have participated in a secret meeting in Finland regarding joining NATO. The meeting was last week.

According to the newspaper, Jacob Wallenberg , an influential Swedish business director, was among the participants in the meeting . In addition to Finnish business figures, the President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö has attended the meeting .

Niinistö has confirmed to Helsingin Sanomat that the Jakobson-Wallenberg group met in Helsinki. Niinistö tells the magazine that he considers the connection valuable. The group regularly discusses informal topics in Finland and Sweden.

According to Helsingin Sanomat, the commanders of the Swedish and Finnish Defense Forces were also present. Niinistö tells the newspaper that he has explained his thoughts on international politics, the future in Ukraine and Finland's current position.
