Did you know Rogan claimed he wouldn't tell young people to get vaccinated?
--according to the Guardian
Rogan has claimed he isn’t anti-vaccine, but during a 23 April 2021 episode of his podcast he said: “If you’re like 21 years old, and you say to me, should I get vaccinated? I’ll go, no.”

I disagree that people seek to censor others because they don't trust their neighbors. It definitely feels more like mindless nest building to me.
Too many words, too fast. "Modern day aristocracy" and "sticking it to the man" was all I got. Oh, and the tech giants. She is right about that. we might switch from giant to giant, an endless shell game.
Krystal Marie Ball is an American political commentator. She was previously a political candidate, as well as a television host at MSNBC, a regular contributor to the The Huffington Post and former co-host of The Hill's Rising along with Saagar Enjeti.
I don't think I will follow her. If she can condense that to a Tweet, maybe then.
I don't think slow progress in Washington has much to do with our being distracted. For one thing, as a matter of fact, change happens in Washington quickly. The Supreme Court comes to mind. Clearly we can talk about Rogan and make/witness real change. That was likely just her attempt to lead into issues she really cares about.
But I trust her distaste for the significance given to rogan gate.

It was a lame argument. It's possible to chew gum and walk at the same time.

Exactly.
Ironically, Krystal Ball spends her entire time talking about Joe Rogan while saying we should focus on the big problems - some of which she mentions in passing.
Well, perhaps not her entire time. I wouldn't know, having stopped listening at the 3:22 mark.

The CIA would be proud of how activist energy has been redirected from collective action on real problems to policing the language of old podcasts and begging tech overlords for more censorship.
Yeah, how very dare those people try to get a platform to acknowledge and modulate its distribution of malignant falsehoods? It's just a distraction from the Real Problems! Oh yeah, and the damn woke mob will be the end of us all, guys!!

To me that's a strange way to talk about interviews. I don't tend to view listening in on someone's conversation, by invitation, as particularly dangerous or likely to expose me to risk; especially when the host is independent and invites a range of guests. ***note that after hearing these concerns Rogan agreed to be more mindful of the kind of people he talks to and what they say.
