Re: The Coronavirus Thread
The 64% had sense to protect themselves and us. But then they gave up:
"About 64% of all people are fully vaccinated in Lancaster County. However, tens of thousands who are eligible for boosters have yet to receive one."

Virus walks thru doorway:
(CNN) - A traveler isolated for Covid-19 at a quarantine facility in New Zealand managed to infect three others across a hallway, researchers reported Thursday.
Closed-circuit camera footage, genetic testing and careful contact tracing show that the only conceivable way the virus could have passed from one room to another was in air that leaked out when both doors were briefly opened, the researchers said.

A couple of small pieces of good news, though the headline refers to stories of militant nitwits in the US and UK. I'm just quoting the good news.
'Idiots On Parade: We Shall Overcome, We'll Also Take Two Whoppers and Fries'

'Idiots On Parade: We Shall Overcome, We'll Also Take Two Whoppers and Fries'
Two weary, relentless, life-rupturing years into the pandemic, there are modest glimpses of glad news. A team of doctors at Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine, doing what Big Pharma won't, has developed "the world's vaccination," a safe, open-source vaccine whose patent they're now transferring free of charge to manufacturers in poor countries - first India, then hopefully Indonesia, Bangladesh, Botswana and elsewhere. Doctors call Cobervax, created at the Center for Vaccine Development with generous philanthropic support, "a gift to the world" that could mark a first step in both vaccinating the rest of the world and halting the emergence of new variants. Around the same time, a team of scientists at UC San Francisco and University College London announced they have solved the mystery of the Omicron variant's rapid spread; their discovery of a critical protein that stifles the body's immune response, they hope, can lead to breakthrough treatments against Omicron.

There is disagreement on the transport in a room (see above):
With measles, for example, the source strength is just so intense that even in the next room, people are still at risk of getting infected," he says. "And you don't see much of that with this virus" because it gets so diluted by the time it reaches the next room.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
I was worried about my situation with that when I quarantined in Brisbane...I was in a corner suite and the next suite opened only a couple feet away sort of face to face when we went to pick up the food deliveries.
Glad it was alpha I dealt with ....I didn't always mask up when grabbing the food and couple of times ended up close to the other person tho they usually masked.
So for sure could see that happening especially with Omi

Guardian
Cases have risen by more than 100% nationally, despite tests being in short supply in many areas.
In Florida, local and state officials warned that residents were waiting hours in sometimes miles-long lines just to get a test. Some accused the state health department and the governor, Ron DeSantis, of being missing in action.
“It’s every man/woman for themselves, because leadership is MIA,” tweeted state senator Shevrin Jones.

--bought 6 home tests last week, as soon as they were available. They were gone in a day.
They all ended up going to family who couldn't find a test.
