I said that I ate tripe as a kid, not that I particularly enjoyed it. Mum just boiled it, and served it with parsley sauce...
That's the way I got it served up by my grandad. I tried it in France in Normandy (the home of tripe) but just could not stomach it.

Brian that is what it feels like in preparation. My dad used to boil it for three days in salt and vinegar. The stench was terrible.
These days of course it is worked into MSM (mechanical separated meat) and ends up as hamburger patties.

Tripe, feet, tails, cheeks, tongues, brains, sweatbreads, lungs, kidneys, livers... Good, honest proletarian foods, all scavenged from the kitchen refuse of our lords and masters.

I eat with relish etc. Mexican groceries are the best source for offal around here, also for meats like goat. I've got some beef kidneys in the freezer, I need to make a steak and kidney pie soon. My favorite is probably sweetbreads.

"Nose-to-tail" is the new foodie mantra, I've been a proponent for yonks.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Man, for what you got, sweetbreads are not what you need, a case like yours demands monkey glands grafting

if you find tripe comforting, look up a Turkish soup called iskembe, they say it's the greatest hangover reliever ever devised.
That looks good. I'll have to give it a try.

Y'allkayda should easily win several elections for the democrats.

So why does it feel like Republicans have managed to make Trump's loss a win?
Imagine that. I guess it's only coincidental that you'd already be the perfect citizen in the ideal world you're selling.

I commented on that in the OP. Didn't bother to mention the built-in advantage coming from rural support of Republicans--in both presidential elections and representation in the Senate. The US seems to be slouching toward a right wing theocratic minority rule.

Yeah, infrastructure, but what have you done for me lately? The Democratic Party has been bent over tying its shoelaces together, as usual, and almost certainly the Republican Party will not fail to get a good kick in, next year. The findings of the Jan. 6th committee will get a shrug from the mainstream media and be denounced as damnable lies by the right-wing media. Another win for the Republicans. Good times!

I wouldn't mind being proved wrong about any and/or all of that. :td:

Well your whole electoral system is built for the right wing. The fact that democrats actually win is nothing short of a miracle or shows how shit the reps are.

The US electoral system favors rural states, not necessarily the right wing. There was a period in American history when there was significant support in rural populations for the left wing Populist Party. As hard as it may be to imagine now, the Republican domination of rural voters may wane at some point.
