The lockdown applies to all unvaccinated Austrians 'except for essential activities, such as work, grocery shopping, exercise or getting vaccinated.' That's allowing pretty much everything other than going to the pub! As such it will do little in public health terns, but it's a good first step in demonising, marginalising, and discriminating against a specific section of the population - some of whom will be sick and disabled people who have been advised not to take the vaccine/s.

In Australia, people who have a legitimate medical reason not to get the jab (and there are very few of those) can obtain an exemption certificate, which allows them to do anything a fully vaccinated person can do. Perhaps they have something similar in Austria...

Tough new COVID restrictions for unvaccinated Queenslanders coming into effect next month have given the state's slowing vaccination rate a much needed boost this past week, says an infectious diseases expert.

Federal government data showed a total of 285,000 vaccines were administered across Queensland in the past seven days to Sunday.

That is an increase of 15.85 per cent on the previous week, where 246,000 doses were administered for the week to November 7.

Mater Health Services Director of Infectious Diseases, Paul Griffin, said the increase in the past week was likely caused by the impending restrictions for the unvaccinated, which will take effect from December 17 or once 80 per cent of the population 16 years and over is fully inoculated.

From mid-December, people who are unvaccinated will be banned from certain types of venues like pubs, clubs, cafes, restaurants, cinemas, theatres, music festivals and stadiums. All staff also need to be fully vaccinated.

Government-owned galleries, museums and libraries will also be restricted, and only fully immunised people will be able to visit hospitals, aged care facilities, prisons and disability services.

The wilfully unvaccinated are beginning to realise that they will be severely restricted in future unless they get the jab. Hopefully, such pressure will leave only a very small number of the most delusional recalcitrants to wallow in their "freedom"...

"It is not in the scriptures" said a religious nut on our news magazine programme one evening when interviewed.
Another said it was against the constitution but failed to quote the exact bit. Plenty of muslim husbands dont think the vaccine is suitable for their wives. Of course they get it and their children but women dont count.
Many just dont trust it. Just many of the wonderbare excuses.
