The Case Fatality Rate is quite meaningless number to look at.

Actually, our CFR has decreased to 1.5% from 1.6%, despite a couple million new cases. We're under the national average now, in a state with the second highest percentage of people over 65 (Hey, that's ME!).
Of more relevance, according to worldometers Florida's 7-day rolling average of daily deaths is 72, Texas's is 44 and for the US it is 443. Working this out on a per million population basis gives

   Florida 3.35
   Texas 1.52
   USA 1.34

A few more

   California 1.14
   New Jersey 5.62
   New York 0.46
   Massachusetts 0.29
   Alabama 1.63

Yes, but only one set is relevant.

God created the virus to test our faith...
Hundreds of Missouri Christian pastors, at least 22 of them ministering to the faithful in the Springfield area, pleaded with state residents on Wednesday to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as the disease continued to tear through the unvaccinated population.

The USA TODAY Network vaccine tracker showed that just 40.61 percent of Missouri's 6.1 million residents are fully vaccinated to date, with 47.21 percent of residents having taken at least one dose. Those levels are far below "herd immunity," generally considered by scientists to exist when at least 70 percent of the population is immunized.

In that context, the 125-year-old Missouri-based Baptist publication Word & Way organized and published a statement backed by more than 200 Christian leaders. They urged everyone to vaccinate as "an easy way of living out Jesus’s command to 'love your neighbor as yourself.'"...

The Catholic bishops in Colorado have emphasized the need to respect those with conscientious objections to the COVID-19 vaccines and have provided a template letter for any Catholics with objections to mandatory vaccination. They also welcomed the City of Denver’s vaccination mandate for including a religious exemption.

“In the case of the COVID-19 vaccine, we are convicted that the government should not impose medical interventions on an individual or group of persons. We urge respect for each person’s convictions and personal choices,” the Colorado Catholic Conference said in an Aug. 6 letter signed by Archbishop Samuel Aquila of Denver and his fellow bishops in the state...

Catholics are careful because human "babies" were probably used for the vaccine.

But no, no fetuses were used. The main "organism" used is a plasmid.

Something for US people to ponder...

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-08-07/ ... /100358726
Even people who have recovered from COVID-19 are being urged to get vaccinated, especially as the extra-contagious Delta variant surges, with a new study showing survivors who ignore the advice are more than twice as likely to get reinfected.

A report from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) adds to growing laboratory evidence that people who have had one bout of COVID-19 get a dramatic boost in virus-fighting immune cells — and a bonus of broader protection against new mutants — when they're vaccinated.

"If you have had COVID-19 before, please still get vaccinated," said CDC Director Rochelle Walensky.

"Getting the vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and others around you, especially as the more contagious Delta variant spreads around the country."

According to a new Gallup survey, one of the main reasons Americans cite for not planning to get vaccinated is the belief that they're protected since they already had COVID-19.

Not going great for Biden. Deaths also a slight up-blip, but under control.

I can't imagine Trump handling this better. And we'll be done with this 2024, right?

200 deaths in Florida yesterday.

...more than Texas, Arizona, Louisiana, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama combined.

You should make a poster with that information and distribute it in the relevant areas of the city:
