In Ozland ... you are a mess. A tiny population in such a big country. Just get vaccinated.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
I came across it being broadcast by a small independent television station. It's all very well for fans of the Weinstein/Heyer show to go watch their stuff online, but when it's being presented to the general public on television I feel compelled to check it out. Of course there was no rebuttal given.
I didn't think it was 'convincing' but I can see why those who sneer at fact-checking would think that it was. I feel an eyebrow lifting when somebody throws around a term like 'evidence-based maniacs.'

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
I have explained this to you before. The vast majority of Australians do indeed want to get vaccinated (even with some worries about AstraZeneca and blood clotting). We would have about the same proportion of resolute anti-vaxxers as most of the world. It's simply that our horrible Federal Government totally stuffed up the vaccine procurement process, partly from sheer incompetence, and partly through complacency from our relatively low covid case numbers last year.Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 11:58 amIn Ozland ... you are a mess. Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Idiots rule:
As coronavirus cases rise rapidly again, the fight against the pandemic is focused on an estimated 93 million people who are unvaccinated.
They largely fall into two groups: those who are vehemently opposed to the idea, and a second group that is still deciding, according to surveys. Health officials are making progress in inoculating this second group, but those who are firmly opposed to the vaccines outnumber them by two-to-one.

Officials at the St. Charles County Health Department in Missouri said they were disappointed after no one showed up to a mobile Covid-19 vaccination center offering vaccines to those attending a local annual fair this week.
The St. Charles County Fair kicked off Tuesday at the Rotary Park in Wentzville, a St. Louis suburb. Attendees had the chance to get the Pfizer/BioNTech or Johnson & Johnson vaccine on Tuesday and Friday between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., according to county health officials.
After spending two days at the fair, workers at the mobile vaccination site did not vaccinate a single person.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
I've spoken of this jestingly, but I'm beginning to wonder whether the current and future mortality differential due to anti-mask and anti-vaccine sentiments will reduce the number of potential Republican voters sufficiently to actually affect some election results. In contests that are knife edge, it might just do that...
