Incentives aren't corruption. :fp:

Unless you can prove otherwise. :coffee:
Corruption is part of your world that is obvious and you cant see it but you are in an Anglo-Saxon country.
I dont have too prove anything. You consider it an incentive when people have already volunteered and you cant see the corruption in that? REALLY??? You must live in a very corrupt world... Oh you do of course.

Money incentives are always a form of corruption.

Yes you do. You made the claim.

Then maybe the solution is to simply compel people to be vaccinated by law?

Human rights? How would you enforce it? Just end up with other type of corruption; fraud.

In the same way you enforce motorway speed limits or requirements to pay your taxes.

You have to embrace your inner libertarian once in a while. But not go in the water. Just sit on the pier and dip your feet in it.

I want to know more about Tero's inner libertarian. :tea:

My inner libertarian is vehemently opposed to fractional reserve banking. I think it is one of the greatest evils that humanity has ever inflicted upon itself.

Pfizer may be able to get the US to vaccinate a 3rd time if they show it prevents deaths.

A step too far, I think. I know that ideally, one would like 100% take up of the vaccine, but to achieve it by compulsion is letting the ends justify the means, always a dangerous thing to do. Are we to get burly hospital orderlies to hold them down, gags muffling their screams as the men in white coats give them their jab?

The hard-core anti-vaxxers can be left to stew in their own, covid-tainted juice, while some judicious combination of stick and carrot should bring in enough of the waverers and apathetic to achieve a reasonable percentage vaccinated.

I agree Jim. Compulsion would lead to corruption. If people dont want to vaccinate well that is their choice. They take the risk.

Unfortunately, it's is not just them who takes the risk - they put at risk everyone else. That's why I would support any measures to increase vaccination rates other than compulsion.
