The chair of former president Donald Trump's 2017 inaugural committee has been arrested on charges he secretly conspired to influence US policy to benefit the United Arab Emirates, while seeking a position as an American diplomat.

I don't see any way for him to weasel out of it either. The evidence looks damning and he was giving value for money, not just jerking them around. If he had registered as a lobbyist for them, what he did would have been basically legal. That would have exposed the monstrous conflict of interest though. They invested about $1.5 billion with him, so ...

Yeah, he could walk away from this--he can afford the best lawyers. They'll have to come up with some very fancy footwork.

Now for the uncensored version: Socialists persecute Patriot! Coming after Trump's people in a politically motivated witchhunt. Just look at all the fine upstanding Trump people who've been wrongly convicted or coerced into pleading guilty to assorted skulduggery.
