No Kool-Aid for me. I'm content with just reporting what happened, like figures published by RIVM (which you rely on when infection rates drop, but describe as 'fairy data' when they rise) and Rutte's press release from a few days ago.
I dont rely on any data. I always refer to it as official data which is what it is. Rise and fall it does not matter as it remains fairy data. It is only based on data acquired from the test centres which is not a reflection of the country as a whole. If you want to believe in it go ahead and drink the kool-aid. Rutte is a decommissioned Minister President that at the moment in negotiations in the new coalition and along with flooding in the country has more on his mind than to worry about fairy data which was obvious at that press conference.

That's what I meant to say. You put it more concisely. Thanks for that.

Tennessee abandons vaccine outreach to minors — not just for COVID-19

The Tennessee Department of Health will halt all adolescent vaccine outreach – not just for coronavirus, but all diseases – amid pressure from Republican state lawmakers, according to an internal report and agency emails obtained by the Tennessean. If the health department must issue any information about vaccines, staff are instructed to strip the agency logo off the documents.

The health department will also stop all COVID-19 vaccine events on school property, despite holding at least one such event this month. The decisions to end vaccine outreach and school events come directly from Health Commissioner Dr. Lisa Piercey, the internal report states.

Additionally, the health department will take steps to ensure it no longer sends postcards or other notices reminding teenagers to get their second dose of the coronavirus vaccines. Postcards will still be sent to adults, but teens will be excluded from the mailing list so the postcards are not “potentially interpreted as solicitation to minors,” the report states.

These changes to Tennessee’s vaccination strategy, detailed in an COVID-19 report distributed to health department staff on Friday, then reiterated in a mass email on Monday, illustrate how the state government continues to dial back efforts to vaccinate minors against coronavirus. This state's approach to vaccinations will not only lessen efforts to inoculate young people against coronavirus, it could also hamper the capacity to vaccinate adults and protect children from other infectious diseases.

I wonder if this has a connection to the whole "family values" thing, where conservatives think that parents should be the sole decision maker on the lives of their children, teenagers included, with an assumption that government/medical contact with children is bound to involve anti-family ideology...

It's here. At last. What the right-leaning media has dubbed 'Freedom Day' is upon us. All legal restrictions are gone and we can get our normal lives back - in England at least. Although ministers have rather confusingly told us we should probably maintain social distancing and masks on public transport and in shops, out of 'respect' for others, nobody can legally force us to comply - we have our freedom back. Huzzah! And to celebrate the Prime Minister, the Chancellor, and the Health Secretary are in self-isolation - although the PM and Chancellor did try and blag their way out of it yesterday - until they were found out making some rules up to suit themselves.

Hopefully your high vaccination rate will mean deaths from, and severity of, any future illness will be low.

The England Covid proximity app is now to be considered advisory only. Ministers are saying that being pinged by the app just gives you some extra info to allow you to make informed personal decisions that are right for you. But if you get pinged and use your personal judgement to ignore the apps recommendation to self-isolate and visit a business anyway, it isn’t your personal decision if you're served by staff who have been pinged and told to self-isolate but aren’t because they’ve made a decision that’s right for them - and it isn't their personal judgement whether to serve you or not if you're ignoring a ping.

You can still get it. You can get it in such mild form that you spread it to the unvaccinated. You can kill them. Not a big loss for Trump voters but still.

Trump lumps his vaccine, now, with fake news and stolen elections:
CNN
Joe Biden kept talking about how good of a job he's doing on the distribution of the Vaccine that was developed by Operation Warp Speed or, quite simply, the Trump Administration," the 45th president said in a statement released via his Save America PAC on Sunday. "He's not doing well at all. He's way behind schedule, and people are refusing to take the Vaccine because they don't trust his Administration, they don't trust the Election results, and they certainly don't trust the Fake News, which is refusing to tell the Truth."
