I mentioned the popular vote, but noted the actual significance of the voting numbers and how they applied in reality to the electoral college vote. Trump won the electoral college by a very thin margin of votes in crucial swing states. Biden won the electoral college by a larger margin of votes in crucial swing states, but still a tiny fraction of the overall votes counted.

You may not have noticed, but the conversation has moved onto discussing whether this fact (and other issues such as voter suppression and partisan gerrymandering) is indicative of fundamental flaws in US "democracy".
