Re: The Coronavirus Thread
UK cases have jumped by c.70% in the last seven days. Government say lifting the last of the legal restrictions on June 21, dubbed 'Freedom Day' by the press, is inevitable.
I suspect that this is similar to when the board of a football club say the manger has their full support after a series of losses shortly before firing him.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
That is bloody stupid. How is your vaccination rate? We have the risk groups(over 60's) vaccinated almost 100%. For the rest it is 70% first jab and 40% second but this will be nearer 60% by the end of this week. Of course this does not include the anti-vaxxers.JimC wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 9:14 pmWe are having around 4 cases per day in a state with a population of over 6 and a half million. Yes, I know, captain obvious.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
I've already commented that we were very slow off the blocks, for a variety of reasons, which reflect poorly on our politicians. Rates of vaccination, particularly in Victoria, have greatly increased, and I'm hopeful that further lockdowns may be avoided...Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 7:58 amThat is bloody stupid. Re: The Coronavirus Thread
I thought that Jim. Vaccination is the only way out.
My wife went and got her second and remarked it was extremely busy due to people coming along without an appointment. The trouble is holidays. Testing is not quite sufficient and risky if you go away for a month which is common here. Not so much with package holidays but caravan and travel trips which tend to be open ended.
For the under 60's one shot is now considered enough now. The centres are not turning them away but fitting them in which means they have to wait for a slot which happens very quickly.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Blair is banging on again about an international Covid pass that officially recognises one's vaccine status. I'm beginning to wonder if somebody is paying him to repeat this elitist guff.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Vaccine passports are already a thing. Better get used to it.
Re: The Coronavirus Thread
According to my international vaccination passport, I've had it since I was 6 months old. That's why it looks quite shabby.

With the rdmaining population refusing to vaccinate themselves or their kids, we will be running this 8 cases a day week after week.

California's just fudging the numbers, probably some others over there doing it too...
I was given a year of free milkshakes once. The year passed and I hadn’t bothered to get even one.
