Big Tech was censoring posts about the Wuhan lab leak.

The media was calling people who talked about the Wuhan lab leak conspiracy theorists.

All while Fauci himself was emailing about COVID-19 possibly leaking from the Wuhan lab.

So far I haven't heard any expert rule out a "leak", just saying that it is improbable. I have heard experts rule out "created".

The news reports are surely all phrased evasively enough that no self-respecting outlet can be sued.

Stealth-edits though, that at least shows deliberate misdirection. Always obvious when one can see the headline has been edited (because often the URL contains the original headline) but sometimes more subtle.

One discussion that came up though, that sounds pretty reasonable, was that with all the giant efforts to do something about this, not much was put into effective treatments.

Vaccines, lockdowns, medical-system prep, but any drug billed as 'treatment' was quickly dismissed by media. Especially the out-of-copyright ones.

Maybe not related, but if any drug provided effective treatment of the 'Rona, it would have been difficult to get emergency approval for new drugs.

Or it looks that way to those examining HCQ and Ivermectin. Both treatments, both suddenly treated as 'unsafe' by a frenzied effort to...stop using the cheap stuff?

There are almost no viral drugs. They are currently for HIV and Hepatis C. The C is a cure.

At the time, the headline on the piece read, “Tom Cotton keeps repeating a coronavirus conspiracy theory that was already debunked.” The paper noted that Cotton said during a Fox Business interview that “we don’t know where it originated, and we have to get to the bottom of that.” However, they nevertheless treated him as though he had definitively declared the virus’ origins, alleging he was “fanning the embers of a conspiracy theory that has been repeatedly debunked by experts.”

The newspaper also dutifully quoted Chinese Ambassador Cui Tiankai’s response to Cotton’s comments:

“But it’s very harmful, it’s very dangerous, to stir up suspicion, rumors, and spread them among the people. For one thing, this will create panic. Another thing is that it will fan up racial discrimination, xenophobia, all these things that will really harm our joint efforts to combat the virus.”

Whaddya know? The Washington Post finally realised it was wrong and corrected its article accordingly. It replaced "conspiracy theory" with "fringe theory" and "was already debunked" with "scientists have disputed". Then the had the gall of correcting corresponding mistakes in the body of the text.
