Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Strange you would trust what a Belgian-owned publication tells you. Not that I could form an opinion. Running the article through Google Translate wouldn't be a problem, but it is also locked up behind a paywall.Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 8:33 amhttps://www.volkskrant.nl/nieuws-achter ... b3ba5822b/NineBerry wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 6:00 pmFairy dataScot Dutchy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 5:52 pmThere are 284 vaccines coming on the market towards the end of the year.

Sorry about that. I never realised that the Volks uses paywalls. A Belgian owned publication? The Volks is part of the DPG Media BV which has newspapers throughout Europe. Along with the NRC is considered the top quality paper here. It is the Guardian equivalent more or less. I have always had a subscription but these days only for the digital version as with the Guardian as well.

It is owned by the Van Thillo family and employs some 6,000 people. Its headquarters are in Antwerp, Belgium. Christian Van Thillo was born in Antwerp, Belgium. Apart from de Volkskrant he and his family also own the Algemeen Dagblad, Trouw and other companies in Belgium, the Netherlands Denmark and elsewhere.Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 10:13 amA Belgian owned publication? I am surprised to see that you do not distrust all fairy data.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
The Volkskrant was an independent paper based in Amsterdam. The Nieuw Rotterdamse Courant was based in Rotterdam. Den Haag had the Haagsche Courant but was socially much lower and is now part of the AD concern. The VK and NRC are considered quality papers. Although both are part of a media groups they have managed to maintain their independent POV and moved into the digital world.
We had many local newspapers but almost all have been taken over by the Algemene Dagblad which produces a local section for each area. We never had or have Sunday newspapers. Many have been launched but never succeeded.
I only distrust fairy data when there is a political element in the data. Even the Volks usually comments on such data.

Data you disagree with are fairy data, and data that harmonise with your prejudices are not.

One more death. It's rare for anyone in the 80s to be a new case.
