That CNN exec said it was propaganda. Though he was only bragging about it on camera, so they probably don't do fake propaganda...

And emphasizing certain aspects of the truth like Biden's jogging and Trump's illness, to foster an impression, is very different from outright lying.

Of course, this is a distinction that Cunt probably doesn't want to acknowledge. :coffee:

When CNN start reporting things in the way FOXNEWS does then we'll know that they're no longer biased. :tea:

Yes. I have corrected our member from Yellowknife's misapprehension on this and several other issues more than once, but Morton's Demon has a greater hold on him than the rest of us.

Your steady fact-checking on behalf of corporate media is appreciated.

It was not an executive, and the things he was bragging about, the propaganda, was probably ok, because it agrees with your priors.

Like the way that fact-checking always checks one side, for some people.

My fact-checking is indiscriminate. You just don't see it because I check stuff I write before I post it. You'd save me checking your stuff if you did likewise. Occasionally I slip up and someone points it out to me. Instead of getting snarky and sarcastic I usually thank them for correcting my error.

The propaganda was a figment of the button-pusher's imagination. He was eager to impress someone he wanted to fuck with stuff he could do and the leftishness of the company he worked for. My guess is that his honeypot pretended to be a lefty in order to get him to open up.

Hermit did not excuse any misinformation spread by CNN, but pointed out that you aren't making the best case for it in this instance.

But rather than address the challenges you've opted to ignore them.

You might have instead pointed out that Hermit was probably right given the context of the video; the "executive" was likely just talking himself up. But his choice of lies reveals something of his own beliefs about his employer. That's hardly solid evidence, but this kind of story was never going to produce that, was it?

Or, you could just provide other better backed examples e.g. the way CNN helped garner support for war by spreading Washington's lies. :dunno:

This kind of story wouldn't, except that there are several, from PV alone.

Each are, of course, less covered by the corporate media partners, so you might not have ran into them. The one where they joined the morning phone-meeting was funny shit.

Fox news is corporate media. I guess that's why it stays clear of PV's rubbish. As do the New York Post and the Wall Street Journal. All of them, along with dozens of TV stations across the US are owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Limited. Murdoch is a strong Trump supporter. With $22.8 billion net assets he is also 7.6 times richer than the former POTUS.

Yes, that may be why PV is not more widely known.

I think it's fun to watch for people repeating certain lies, then finding them on the 'wall of shame' he puts up. Like when people misrepresent the 'Acorn Scandal', as if that somehow negates his later work.

Or wikipedia blatantly publishing things that other media characters have been forced to retract.

The wall of retractions or wall of shame or whatever he calls it, makes for good entertainment, when laughing at the complicity theorists.

Apparently doesn't like the fact that Fox News has been exposed again as a blatantly dishonest source. Starts yapping about CNN to distract from that. Succeeds in turning the conversation to himself and his lame bullshit. Win!

Fact checking is engaging in some figment of imagination called 'complicity theory.'

And yet he parrots all the right wing jargon like "blue-anon" and "complicity theory."

The thing is, 'complicity theory' actually already has a meaning. Brilliant right-wing culture warriors don't care about that--it's the usual IKYABWAI laziness, attempting to deflect from the very real phenomenon of conspiracist thinking. It's basically a stupid re-branding of 'sheeple,' and does the same job--you say more about yourself than those you accuse when you use loaded buzz-words.
