So, no date for apocalypse?
Just put your vacations on hold...
Vacations are on hold. I had booked a hotel for three weeks starting mid may. But because our stupid politicians failed at keeping the pandemic under control, traveling won't be allowed in may. So I had to cancel the booking.
But if you can assure me that the world is going to end within the next few weeks anyway, I can do some quick vacations without consequences immediately

Marcuse in End of Utopia
"It can also be understood as the “end of history” in the very precise sense that the new possibilities for a human society and its environment can no longer be thought of as continuations of the old, nor even as existing in the same historical continuum with them. Rather, they presuppose a break with the historical continuum; they presuppose the qualitative difference between a free society and societies that are still unfree, which, according to Marx, makes all previous history only the prehistory of mankind."

"Marcuse’s first major work, Eros and Civilization: A Philosophical Inquiry into Freud (1955), is a sweeping indictment of capitalism that is remarkable for not once mentioning Karl Marx (1818–83). "
Fine, he was an erudite critic of capitalism with some original, non-Marxist points. There would be many on this forum with some interest, and probably some agreement with aspects of his political position.
Why the fuck has this got to do with biblical belief systems and a pogrom against atheists?
The problem with ONE-DIMENSIONAL men, you know...

I'm curious, Soup. If you lived in the US, which political party would you favor, the more religious Republicans, or the more left-leaning Democrats?

For us it is like choosing A or B. No real difference. Both want to save capitalism from its inevitable collapse. Both will fail.

You will find quite similar statements here, for example from Brian or Hermit, showing cynicism about any major differences between the 2 parties in terms of their effect on capitalist society. So far, so good...
But again, what connection can there be between such a statement and the violent religious fundamentalism which seems to be the other string to your bow?

You do know what will happen to False Prophets, Nostril-Anus?
Actually,
we are the ones who will decide your fate.
False pride too:
It was Pride that changed angels into devils; it is humility that makes men as angels. - St. Augustine
The Sin of Pride is said by some to the the foremost of the Seven Deadly Sins. Hubris is the gateway through all other sin enters the mortal soul.
What it is
Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.
perfect description of an atheist.
Note what you said above, highlighted.
Fire and Brimstone for you, matey.
