It was a reference to that, and to the name Crowder gave his show. If you wanted to know why he thought he was right, why would you ask me?

I know, you are dying to have me argue a point you choose, but really, I don't like you that way.

I like you in other ways. Maybe you should find someone willing to have this discussion with you, instead of trying to force consent on someone who doesn't want to.

Someone else tossed it out, so check their courage.

I simply pointed out that Crowder had mention of the issue in his show.

Still looking for your discussion of it. I'm sure it is courageous and not at all troll-like. Can you direct me to the post though? All I can find of yours is trollish and timidly unclear...

I've made my position clear after hearing it, too. I agree with whichever Hodge twin said what he said. Of course, you might have missed that, because it didn't agree with your wishes.
So, to summarise your waffle, you remain unwilling to state a straightforward position on the issue you referred to yourself, the "confront people who wear masks" thing.

A fairly standard trope from you - hint at some right-wing revelation, demand that people read some weird blog, but refuse to clearly articulate your own position. Get's very tedious after a while...

Reading a weird blog is something that I'm willing to do, usually. Listening to hours of some braying stooge like Crowder is less tolerable.

Nope, not at all. I responded with mention of a source (Crowder) of opinion on it that you may ignore.

I expressed my opinion, agreeing with the Hodge twin later, after hearing it.

What else do you want?

Oh, and where is your discussion of it? Is it all centered on demanding I take the position you wish? Who did you discuss it with? Did Forty Two pop back in?

Yes, his change my mind segments, where he allows those who disagree to say anything they want, take a lot of time. Especially if you don't like the result.

He's live-steaming Biden's public thingie tonight. I'm giving that a hard pass too.

Getting back to the thread topic, Ex-President Trump was interviewed on Bongino today. (or it was released today). Turnip exagerrated in the usual ways, and hinted that the time to announce (if he was running 2024) would be right after the midterms. There was other stuff, including stuff that made me and my sweetheart laugh out loud (the guy is SO over-the-top-full-of-shit)

Best podcast interview ever. In the universe. Of all time. With ranch dressing.

I've read so many alt-Right blogs/sites that Google thinks I'm actually into that stuff. :)

This is what passes for insight and humour from the latest fair-haired boy.

Oh, and where is your discussion of it?
I thought I had made it clear, but here goes...

The wearing of masks has clearly been a source of controversy. However, the bulk of medical opinion is that, in circumstances of crowed spaces, particularly indoors, when case numbers are high, the more people that wear masks, the lower the transmission rate will be, and this will significantly reduce case numbers, hospitalisations and deaths. There is plenty of room for some disagreements there. Perhaps in non-crowded outdoor environments, or in low case number environments, or when vaccination levels are high, the need for masking greatly reduces.

Some people, both here, in the US and elsewhere, have made it clear that they will not wear masks, for whatever reason. Fine. I would argue that in crowded environments, doing so is selfish and increases the statistical risk to everyone else. However, it may well be that refusal to mask up leads to refusal of service in shops, public transport etc. depending on the jurisdiction and the rules in place; mask shunners simply have to accept those consequences.

Now, to make something crystal clear; as a general rule, members of the general public wearing masks (when it is a requirement) should not confront or argue with non mask wearers, for a variety of reasons. Various officials may, of course, do so, but that is irrelevant to our discussion.

So, I see absolutely no valid reason why a non mask wearer, even if possessed by a political reason for their own personal choice, should ever confront or argue with a mask wearer, who is doing so by their own personal choice...

So, can you advance a coherent reason as to why that is incorrect?

Why would I?

I already told you my position on the event. While I'm an 'anti-masker', I bet you would be glad to follow my 'anti-masker' rules, they are so danged sensible.

I think people confronting each other is no good on either side. Choice and liberty is my game. Avoid masking/masks in every way possible.

Wearing masks doesn't seem to be the controversy. Defining the deleterious effects of masks, masking or mask mandates, seem to be the controversy.

No, you had not made your position clear in earlier posts.

Now you have, with no argument from me, but clearly you disagree with the original right-wing commentator. Finally.

Business Insider on Carlson strawman whopper:
"The vaccine is now universally available," Carlson said. "Anyone can get it, but because some people have chosen not to get the vaccine, the rest of us must continue to live as if we haven't gotten the vaccine either.

"How do we fix the problem?" Carlson asked, before introducing a clip from Reid's MSNBC show "The ReidOut" that aired April 23.

"Here's the race lady from MSNBC finally putting her Harvard degree to work," Carlson said, referring to Reid. "It's simple she said — just charge people who don't get the vaccine with felonies."

Reid also addressed Carlson during the Tuesday night episode of "The ReidOut." She called him a "male Karen" for his suggestion that people should call the police when children are seen wearing face masks in public.

I should have guessed that you wouldn't have caught my earlier position.

That's ok, since I was listening, I don't even know which Hodge said it.

Do you even listen to the Hodge twins (who were guests on Crowder)? Or do you just get your opinions on it from blueanon corporate media?

Anyway, let me model a non-trollish response to Jim's initial post.

I'm sorry you think that Jim, but I honestly didn't intend what you've taken from what I said. I don't think anyone on either side should confront each other like that. I just thought you might be interested in hearing another point of view.

I don't disagree with Tucker. Mainly, because I haven't taken the time to try to understand his position.

If I did, I would recognize immediately, that the inflammatory statement was bait, and meant to draw a twitter-trend.

As I pointed out first off - he was looking to trend.

As to whether he meant for people to start doing something different, or start responding to the maskers 'in kind', I don't know, but again, I think he was just trying to trend, so I don't care enough.

If he said something clearer, I might bite, but being encouraged to take such 'bait' by JimC doesn't make it sound like a good idea.

Why not condemn Crowder, and the Hodge twins, without knowing what they really said? Would that get you into the blueanon club?

I can't stand any of them, and I'm tired of having their names in my livingroom; all that influence, and they only manage to light fires everywhere. I want a better class of influencers, for all points of view.
