The live one does not seem to capture the drums well, and the drums are a crucial part of the hook of this song

parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

Lennon made a rather poor oldies album, ruined by Phil Spector but it was not great stuff in any case. McCarney made severla sucessful oldies records. George played on several tracks of a Carl Perkins tribute album. George only sings a tiny bit on the encore.



George got to sing on a number of BBC songs. The Perkins song has Lennon and Paul. George does guitar licks.


George sang this hillbilly number by Perkins
