Of course. Hell, I would say that a lot of people who got into trouble (injured/arrested/etc.) didn't know what they were doing, and didn't mean to do anything illegal.

Riots are riots. Once that shit starts, there aren't any good answers, that I know of. I hear legends that, if you shoot the right rioters, it stops, but I'm not convinced that makes much sense. I would avoid the possibility everywhere I can.

I would gladly say that of those who did the actual damage (the 1billion + referred to) only a portion of them are criminally responsible.

But I wouldn't use a phrase like 'mostly peaceful' to hide the fact that bad shit was happening. What I meant about the 'mostly peaceful bowel movement' is that it doesn't take much 'non-peaceful' to make things terrible.

When I wrote 'riots are riots', it was in defense against that kind of painting.

If one instance was right-wing, and all the others left-wing, we still don't have any headway. Riots sweep up around innocents, and while some may be clear provocateurs, the sophisticated ones will simply recruit a useful idiot, to do the dirty work.

It's easy to blame it on BLM, because those were the main purpose of the protests, but the riots were not the protests. Protesters, or any large group, can find themselves in a riot without intending to.

Other, more sophisticated provocateurs, can with only peaceful language, and plausible deniability, start some really serious shit.
