That's pretty much my current position. 'Any port' and all that.
There
are differences, but no-one qualified to tell the difference, has convinced me of any preference.

I'm dismayed over an increasing tendency (of everyone except me, it seems) to get information from podcast or videos or Utube or...
What the fuck is wrong with simply reading a few pages of clear, concise writing, possibly with the odd graph or diagram? The world is going to hell in a hand basket!

Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!

What's wrong with doing both?
I listened to about 40 minutes of The DarkHorse podcast before switching over to the article.
A podcast is definitely superior for introducing topics and works well to reinforce reading.

Why not read something important into audio, and join the party, you old teacher, you!
librivox will accept your novice effort, and will host out-of-copyright classics.
I've just started a Jordan Peterson recommendation - it's called Gulag Archepelago. Should be more interesting than Tim Pool and the Media Show

btw, I mentioned Peterson because he was quite excited by the arrival of audio podcasts. Gone are many barriers to reading, including literacy (you can listen a bunch of times) and time.
Podcasts can be listened to in 'found time'. Doing the dishes, framing a door, running, driving.

I don't like watching movies, I never listen to the radio, and I watch very little TV.

There is evidence which points to advantages of taking in information using multiple skills ie reading/listening + writing. When you listen and write you may take away more than listening alone. The maximum benefit coming from writing summaries of concepts while listening, rather than writing everything heard. The neat idea behind this being the possibility of an interplay between skills strengthening learning.

Unlike Cunt I can't listen to anything serious while doing other things. My mind will wander.

My learning style was reading and writing. I learned to spell English with wacky rules writing it out. I have memorized it with hand to eye coordination. With typing I don't have quite that help.
Song lyrics were always harder to make out than speech. Sometimes I would write down a line.
The only spoken word stuff I can play in the car is comedy.

My mind DOES wander. But if there is something interesting or demanding, I just rewind and do it again.
I was installing a door (-30C, so it's a bit of a race) and didn't even notice the thing had stopped playing.

Evidence suggests that, to some extent, what you learn under a certain amount of stress is retained more securely than what you might try to learn when you're relaxed and comfortable. Which is why I always read a text book standing in the splits position over a bucket of live lobsters.

Astra Zeneca
The latest update to the study, which hasn't been peer-reviewed yet, suggests the vaccine is 76 percent effective at preventing symptomatic COVID-19 infections up to three months after a singular dose. That level of immunity appears to kick in a little more than three weeks after the initial shot, with little evidence of protection waning in the interim period. The figure then rises to 82 percent after the second dose.
Swabs taken weekly from volunteers in the U.K. (the study also included participants in Brazil and South Africa) also showed a 67 percent reduction in positive PCR tests, raising confidence the vaccine may help prevent transmission as opposed to just lowering the risk of symptomatic and severe infections, though further study is necessary on that front.
