I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops. - Stephen J. Gould

My curiosity is easily piqued, so I did some looking. I found an English Stack Exchange discussion of the term 'Eskimo brothers.' Since Svartalf has been circumspect, I don't know if this is what he was referring to.

Re: Qanon
Your link concentrates on cospousalism among some Inuits. You could argue that is one of those "things that should really never be said or take place anywhere within reach of polite society", but I think the reason for the change from Eskimo to Inuit is more likely the one I quoted above.L'Emmerdeur wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 4:19 pmMy curiosity is easily piqued, so I did some looking. Cospousalism among some Inuits has been known for a lot longer than the discussion at the Stack Exchange would have you believe. I remember hearing a joke about it years before the internet became popular. Probably in the late 60s or very early 70s. It is about a explorer who kept bragging about one of his journeys at parties in the presence of his wife, where an Eskimo let him share his own wife in their igloo for two weeks while they were waiting for a snowstorm to abate. The explorer got his comeuppance when the very same Inuit appeared at the couple's doorstep. He had come to town as a participant in a conference scheduled to last for ten days, and asked if he could stay in their apartment in order to save money. Before the explorer could reply, his wife gave him an enthusiastic "Yes".

If they had a brain between them they would be dangerous.

"Wat is het een gezellig boel hier".

So these are the guys that nearly overthrowed the US?
Tens of thousands of guardsmen should do the trick.

Re: Qanon
What are they supposed to look like? You do know the really threatening terrorists you're imagining just look like goofy people too right?
I mean, look at this goofy bastid!

Or what about these three scary dudes!?

The latest fad is a poverty social. Every woman must wear calico,
and every man his old clothes. In addition each is fined 25 cents if
he or she does not have a patch on his or her clothing. If these
parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

It's not like the guy dressed as Ronald McDonald is the one flipping the burgers at the restaurants.

I would have expected balanced responses to riots/civil unrest.
This q-clown 'insurrection' looked a lot less dangerous than other recent events.
