Media Bias
Re: Media Bias
I think coito was expressing what he thought was uneven moderation. But there isn't any agreed-upon way to test such a theory, so its really just opinions.

Well, he was already at home. He really just stopped writing to us.
I liked him. Hope he is well. Instead of snubbing us, he may have just died.

Re: Media Bias
I don't know why you would even link anything from Armstrong Economics. The founder/owner of the site is a convicted felon who spent 11 years in jail for cheating investors out of $700 million and hiding $15 million in assets from regulators.
The table you linked from it is a fake. Surprised? Did you even make a cursory check regarding its accuracy? Didn't think so. You check nothing when the "facts" harmonise with your bias.
The fake has been altered to show, as you put it, that "only government is less trustworthy than journalists". You also claimed "Clergy lawyers and car salespeople all rate higher". That is a lie. While clergy are rated 4 percentage points higher than journos (this poll was undertaken in the US after all), lawyers (-3) and car salespeople (-5) are not. Journos also rate higher than business executives (-4) and advertising practitioners (-5).
It is also worth noting the poll is about people's opinions, and they can vary, sometimes by huge margins. For instance, Gallup broke down opinions by party ID. Here is the breakdown of people's trust (% very high/high honesty and ethical standards) for journalists:
Republican 5%
Independent 28%
Democrat 48%
Incidentally, the breakdown table also shows that Democrats regard clergy less honest and ethical (38%) than journalists.
But thanks for providing yet more crap.

Looks like Apple is responsible for user generated content on their platforms.
Or Matze wants it to look like that.

Parler CEO John Matze confirmed the action from Apple in a post on his Parler account where he posted a screenshot of the notification from Apple.
"We want to be clear that Parler is in fact responsible for all the user generated content present on your service and for ensuring that this content meets App Store requirements for the safety and protection of our users," text from the screenshot reads. "We won't distribute appps that present dangerous and harmful content.

James Murdoch condemns 'profound damage' wreaked by US news media

https://www.smh.com.au/world/north-amer ... 56ukn.html
Rupert Murdoch's son James has condemned American media outlets for unleashing "profound damage" on the United States and being complicit in the events that led to the pro-Trump insurgency in Washington earlier this month.
The junior Murdoch, who left his father's News Corporation last year citing disagreements over editorial content, said the storming of the Capitol was "proof positive that what we thought was dangerous is indeed very, very much so".
"Those outlets that propagate lies to their audience have unleashed insidious and uncontrollable forces that will be with us for years," he told London's Financial Times newspaper. "I hope that those people who didn't think it was that dangerous now understand, and that they stop."
He did not directly mention News Corporation or Fox News, the company's vociferous cable news channel now run by brother Lachlan Murdoch as chief executive and executive chairman.
James Murdoch has long expressed more progressive views than his father Rupert or older brother Lachlan, especially on the issue of climate change. He and his wife Kathryn each donated more than US$615,000 to Joe Biden's campaign for the presidency last year.
Following the Financial Times interview, Mr Murdoch and his wife released a statement taking aim at disinformation and those who spread it deliberately.
"Spreading disinformation – whether about the election, public health or climate change – has real world consequences," they wrote in the statement also reported by the FT.
"Many media property owners have as much responsibility for this as the elected officials who know the truth but choose instead to propagate lies.
"We hope the awful scenes we have all been seeing will finally convince those enablers to repudiate the toxic politics they have promoted once and forever."
Mr Murdoch also told the newspaper he believed there would be "a reckoning" for the news media industry, which was "being co-opted by forces that only want to stay in power".

Re: Media Bias
Apple (or Microsoft or Google) don't have "platforms" in the same way the Facebook, Parler or Twitter have platforms. They may be the source of apps that are platforms, and they may wish to no longer be the source of platform-style apps where violent acts are plotted by users. If that is the case, the decision to cease will be presented as the ethical act of a concerned corporation, but of course, as Hermit emphasises, it will be a decision based on their monetary bottom line...Cunt wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 2:55 pmLooks like Apple is responsible for user generated content on their platforms.

Might want to look up the Glenn Beck/Eric Weinstein interview. (Ep. 93 the glenn beck program)
Or you might want to stay clear of one or the other of them. Unity would piss off all the right people though, wouldn't it?

Re: Media Bias
Their podcast was unusual because one is very left, the other very right. They talk about the bias in media, and Weinsteins 'custom shorthand' of the GIN (gated institutional narrative) and DISC (distributed idea suppression complex)
So relevant to media bias, but some folks don't like to listen to righties. Or to lefties. Or to Weinsteins.
