It's not completely unlikely. Consider if you'd lived the life that he had lived. Think about the private jets and private islands and the well choreographed debauchery to which you've become accustomed. Now it seems inescapable that you're facing an indefinite but possibly unbearably prolonged stay as an involuntary guest of the government, being sneered at (this would be a high-class Club Fed, you understand) in dreary circumstances and surroundings.

And in that far off day (could be literally years!) when you stepped over to the waiting limo, the gratification you've been craving for who knows how long is going to be exceptionally difficult to obtain, what with the intense scrutiny and all. It's unlikely to ever be fun again. Who wants to live like a not-billionaire-sybarite? Offing yourself is an option you might seriously consider.

A hit is at least as likely though. Lacking fucks to give for the niceties of his death, for me it's a flip of the coin.
