A hippie from Asheville traveled to Waynesville, NC, stole 7 American flags off Main street and burned them. Probably thought "these yokels will nevr catch me Bwaaaa HA HA HA!"

Unfortunately for her, little Waynesville has CCTV and she's been arrested and charged with 6 misdemeanors and one felony. Nothing like a felony conviction to make the rest of your life easier, eh?

The felony is "burning personal property", the misdemeanors are for stealing the flags and possession of stolen property. It's legal to burn your OWN flag, but not someone else's. These belonged to local Kiwanis Club.

If you're going to go all Antifa it's best to do so in a place that might actually support Antifa, like Asheville. In Waynesville (and a lot of other small mountain towns in NC) you're lucky to get off with a felony charge rather than just getting your ass shot.

Who cares really? I believe what she did is wrong because she only hurts people like her. But, the state has zero credibility and should only expect more of the same going forward.

I wouldn't worry so much about the state's response, it's more what Bubba, Cletus, and Billy Bob do. There was a BLM march back in August in Maggie Valley (just outside Waynesville), drew a dozen or so marchers from Asheville. The cops had to escort them thru town to protect them from the locals. That's sort of like rain on your wedding day.

I agree there will be more of the same, and it's going to get ugly. The hills have eyes.

Trump has all but deputized them. When Biden wins we can take a page from dod's playbook: antagonize them further, and round'em up as they come out.
