Well first I'd ban anyone over 60 from voting - sorry Jim. I'd lower the voting age to 16. Anyone who works in finance.. banned. People who go to church, banned. Unless it's Anglican church. Corporate lawyers, banned. Human/civil rights lawyers, ok.

Can you explain how "misuse of masks" could be a source of infection (except multiple people sharing the same mask)
Simple read the WHO guidelines. Touching masks then touching other surfaces or your own face. Disposable masks should be disposed of and not reused.
And some ill-informed or stupid people will do these things. But they'd be doing it to their bare face anyway. They may have no benefit, but neither will it be worse. If the majority do the right thing with their mask wearing, then there will be some reduction in transmission rates. You seem to assume that mask proponents see it as an infallible solution. It will never eliminate transmission, but in conjunction with other measures it will have an impact, statistically speaking, on community transmission rates.
There is no scientific proof that supports the wearing of non-medical masks. It is pure conjecture and simply a "just in case" job but ignores all the negatives. Dutch hate when you cant see facial expressions. They use the face a lot when talking as do for instance the Italians use their hands. It is seen here as a useless over the top measure which is just tolerated in public transport because of economic reasons. Even this is being questioned in parliament since ventilation has cropped up. The schools go back next week and there will be no masks anywhere.
The thing is Jim mask proponents do see it as a be all and end all solution. Look in third world countries where the same filthy mask is worn from one day to the next. It is seen as the ultimate solution but all the other measures are forgotten about. That is the biggest problem; the false sense of security. Many think on the level Hermit shows in his childish diagram and others say "so what". They simply forget the impact it has on society without any proven benefits only the "just in case" mentality reigns.

I'd just ban conservatives. Problem solved.
Work out a foolproof way of delineating them from everybody else...
Or do a brain scan on everyone as you show them a picture of a purple haired lesbian. Those whose amygdala light up... banned.

We'd offer exemptions if you could prove you aren't a conservative. Like get you to shake hands with a gay person.

The breathtaking ignorance of some people never ceases to amaze me. What part of the concept of "airborne respiratory pathogen" don't they comprehend?

Bron was waiting to enter a pharmacy the other day, where masks, using hand sanitiser and having a temperature check via a remote IR thermometer aimed at one's forehead were conditions of entry. The woman ahead was refusing to have her temperature checked, saying that she thought that the thermometer (a passive device, of course) would give her brain cancer...
Projecting much? odds are she already has a cancer occupying the whole of her skull cavity.

That's the point isn't it? If we're not going to extend full voting rights to everyone then somebody has to decide the basis on which other people don't get to vote. The solution is not to just ban the stupid from voting but reform the education system, social provision, and the economy, and democratic institutions, and... well, it's a long list I guess.

You can't educate conservatives. They are wired that way.

The only people I'd let vote are men over 60. Y'all rest need to shut the fuck up and listen to your betters. We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Boris Johnson urged to intervene as exam results anger escalates
Labour calls on PM to cancel planned break as Tory MPs deluged with complaints

Boris Johnson has been urged to get a grip on the exams crisis as Labour and backbench Conservatives united in their criticism of the botched handling of A-level results in England and headteachers came out in favour of a Scotland-style solution using teachers’ assessments.

The government’s attempt to placate angry parents and students backfired over the weekend when the exams regulator Ofqual scrapped rules allowing pupils to appeal against their grades using the results of mock exams, hours after the rules had been published and endorsed by ministers.

Oxford University announced that it was unable to offer further places to state school applicants affected by the grading fiasco because of a cap on numbers imposed by the government.

On Thursday, GCSE results are due to be published for more than 600,000 year 11 pupils in England and 100,000 older students aim
ing for crucial passes in maths and English that qualify them for further training or study.
Of course they are fucked.

Just give everyone an "A". It's discriminatory and racist and whateverist to give GRADES to students! Why should smart kids get A's when smartinadality challenged ones don't?

IT"S UNFAIR!

The grades for sixth-form and vocational college students are 10-15% lower than the five year average, whereas the grades for grammar and fee-paying schools are higher. I wonder how that happened eh?
