Which syllable did the presenter stress? If you put the emphasis on the first one, the second pretty much takes care of itself.
The first syllable was properly stressed, but couldn't save her from the disastrous ending.
ETA I think the problem might have been that she acknowledged the second part, which led to its horrible execution. If she had just left it alone as more of an afterthought than something that had to be pronounced, we might have had a better outcome. Melbn.

There's a Melbourne, Florida. Perhaps Lak should tell us how it's said.

I'd say Mel-burn. Coastal Florida isn't particularly Southern, if it was located inland it would be more like "May-el buurrn".
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Probably more like Melbn. The second vowel is hardly pronounced.

Excuse me!
I get up in the morning, log onto Ratz, and what do I find? A horde of Ratzians disrespecting the intellectual, cultural, sporting and (currently) pestilence capital of Oz!
(BTW, rEv has the pronunciation correct, even if he is a degenerate New South Welshman)
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!

The revenge of the fish:
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-08-15/ ... n/12562100
A 56-year-old man has died in Darwin after being struck in his chest by a fish while on a fishing boat.
Northern Territory Police say the man had been fishing with family and friends on Darwin Harbour on Friday when he was "struck in his chest by a large fish which launched itself into the boat".

wtf Bondi beach? Is the Bondi Rescue show real? If that show is to be believed they're constantly pulling drowning people out of the water. They're even rescuing many adults, and telling some of them they shouldn't be in the ocean if they don't know how to swim. --no shit!
