Private Eye
Reading my most recent copy of Private Eye it occurred to me that our American friends here have probably never come across this English esteemed organ and institution. In a corporate and increasingly bland media world, Private Eye Manages to stay sharp, satirical and edgy. It is regularly sued (often successfully) but is hugely supported. Here is a link. You can't get the whole current issue on line but they do print extracts.

I am rather fond of the smug twat myself - a bit of a British institution. And yes - he's the editor.Animavore wrote:Doesn't that smug twat Ian Hislop work for Private Eye?

Re: Private Eye
I was sitting in my office, cleaning my .38 and inhaling a whisky, when in walked a blond dame, with legs up to here...
"Pull up a chair, toots, and tell me what's on my mind" I drawled.
Oops, sorry, wrong thread...

I've read my father's copies of private eye and I can tell you if I paid for it, I'd cancel my subscription!
(It's quite amusing, but you DEFINITELY need to be immersed in British "culture" to get it.)
