China and India, WWIII?

China and India, WWIII?

https://www.usnews.com/news/world-repor ... in-decades
The incident took place during a meeting in the mountainous region between the two sides – both of which had agreed to disarm – to determine how the two militaries would safely withdraw their presences from the region.

The meeting grew tense and resulted in a physical confrontation between the troops. According to the assessment, all of the casualties were from the use of batons and knives and from falls from the steep topography, the source says.

Tense, physical confrontation...

Several dozen from both sides died in hand to hand combat. WTF, this could be serious shit.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

The next major war will be between China and the USA, and it will not begin for at least another ten years, because that is how long it takes for China to get all its ducks in a row.

China is very good at devising and implementing long term projects because it does get distracted by having to focus on short term objectives in order to please an electorate every few years. Right now it is busily building forward air and marine bases in the South China sea, a fleet of aircraft carriers to go with them and buying governments of small countries, especially in Africa but also elsewhere. By the time the USA realises that it is being overtaken in economic and military terms it will be too late to do anything about it.

The US spends nearly 3 times the amount on its military than China. China's got a lot of work to do to catch up.

The Chinese are a lot more efficient. They need to spend less money to get more out of it.

LOL, I'm currently reading early Marvel Thor comics (from the late 50s or early 60s), and the issue I'm currently on has a Red China/India border conflict as its starting point

Quality is improving in leaps and bounds, just like Japan's did previously.

And like I mentioned earlier - it's a long term project.

The military piece is only part of the project. The Belt and Road initiative is a serious move toward greater economic and diplomatic leadership in the world.

Of course the fool in the White House is creating more opportunities for the Chinese to do this by withdrawing from treaties and alienating US allies. :fp:
