Donald Trump is getting nervous. Internal polls show him losing in November unless the economy comes roaring back.
But much of the economy remains closed because of the pandemic. The number of infections and deaths continue to climb.
So what is Trump’s re-election strategy? Reopen the economy anyway, despite the risks.
Step 1
Remove income support, so people have no choice but to return to work.
Step 2
Hide the facts.
Step 3
Pretend it’s about “freedom”.
Step 4
Shield businesses against lawsuits for spreading the infection.
What a country? Isn't this what you want too? The virus is a hoax, after all.

"I think you're a terrible reporter" --I'll never forget that, he has said so many shitty things, but saying that in response to ~What would you say to scared Americans~ clearly shows where his mind is at all times.
I'll never forget it either, but I remember it differently.
The reporter was trying to make him look bad, and to corrode the hopeful things he was saying.
Probably was a terrible reporter, but the facts of his words don't come in to things. Especially when the person he insults, deserves it AND is on the 'intersectional spectrum'.
Shit, Piss, Cock, Cunt, Motherfucker, Cocksucker and Tits.

I remember it even more differently. Someone was being a cunt. And pushing right-wing ideas while running around something else.
I'm aware of how you would remember it.
I saw the whole clip though, so don't mind the fat idiot being told their reporting was terrible.
Maybe you can show their 'not terrible reporting' though, unless of course you never heard of them before, and only defend them because Trump said something mean...

Wasnt there something about a woman the person talked about? Maybe some right-wing lady. There was a lot about running. But maybe it was about standing still. They mentioned the number 21 a lot. Isn't that relevant?

Yeah, OK. I don't know what 'fat idiot' you might be referring to, since the only one in evidence was standing at the podium, but onward.
The context was Trump pushing a drug which has since been shown to be essentially useless in dealing with COVID-19. Even as he was pushing it, anybody with knowledge in the relevant field had already said that the preliminary results of small trials were of dubious utility in evaluating its effectiveness, and urged caution in putting any weight on them. He also propagated misinformation, denying that the drug could have 'an unbelievable, monumental effect, like kill you' when in fact it was already known at that time that the drug could indeed kill you. Not from an overdose (though that would kill you) but from possible serious side effects, namely congestive heart failure and complete heart block.
Then came what for any other president would have been a complete softball question. 'What do you say to Americans who are scared, though, I guess, nearly 200 dead, 14,000 who are sick, millions, as you witness, who are scared right now -- what do you say to Americans who are watching you right now, who are scared?'
This was a perfect opportunity for Trump to show genuine leadership and competence. Just offer reassurance that the most qualified people in the country were working to prepare for the effects of the pandemic, that the US would provide a great example of how to deal with a pandemic, and that plans for dealing with such a situation were being implemented. The last would have been true, if the Trump administration hadn't tossed those plans aside, but regardless, Trump could have given himself a good soundbite that demonstrated his ability to lead the country. Pretty much anybody but Trump would have seen it as an invitation to connect with the whole country as somebody who was on top of the situation and understood that there was genuine, completely justified fear of what the pandemic would bring with it. Instead, he showed himself to be the incompetent, petty, vindictive, self-centered, clueless shitheel that he is.
You do you, though. Maybe go out for a nice trot around in the snow.
Just think about this. This Republican governor felt he had to have his National Guard hide and protect the state's coronavirus tests... FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT! This is utter lunacy. It is INCONCEIVABLE that this would happen under Obama.
Maryland went through a lot of effort to obtain 500,000 coronavirus tests from South Korea, according to Gov. Larry Hogan, and the state has deployed its National Guard to protect them at a secret location to prevent anyone from taking them — including the federal government.

I don't believe half of it, but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for the truth to come out.
Why don't you believe it? Is there a problem with the Chicago Sun Times? Is it fake news?

Yeah dude, cause that is the only other possibility. I guess you and I just have different life experiences, and mine have lead me to an understanding you clearly lack... Or, something else is getting in your way. Whatever the case your lack of imagination on this issue is glaring. My skepticism is based in how people are. For example, if you're responsible for securing supplies and you don't get them, do you present an objective explanation, or something else? Well, in my experience it is often something else. So, when I read that feds have a reasoning behind seizures I'm not surprised to see people who haven't got supplies instead saying something like "we're living in the wild west" --wringing of hands! In this particular example nobody is going to volunteer the ugly side of things that existed prior to the crisis and that have contributed to today's problems. Instead, we get a hero's story.
The truth is not likely to be what has been presented.
