We have no evidence that lockdown has achieved anything but paranoia. Not a single country went any other way (?). Only Sweden moved slightly off track and severely criticised for it. Now masks, the symbol of control, are being advised after being in the beginning deemed not necessary.
Scot, both Australia and NZ have established quite serious lockdowns reasonably early, and have achieved vastly better numbers than most other countries. Masks are not required here, just a large reduction in human to human contact. It's working well for us, and should be able to be sensibly and slowly relaxed in a few weeks. However, we will keep our borders closed for much, much longer, to the great detriment of tourism, but so be it.

That's thick as shit as well. Why do you think medical staff wear them? To look cool? Fuck.

Wearing masks by the general public is the point here, and it does seem that it is in most cases unnecessary unless you are actively coughing, in which case you shouldn't be out in public anyway...

Masks also stop you touching your mouth and nose and thereby transferring the virus by contact. They may not be necessary (debatable), but to suggest they do nothing (other than a stupid conspiracy theory about state control) is flat out wrong.

Yeah, it's only the success of those measures that give people the impression that the measure weren't needed.

Where is the evidence? Which country in Europe has not taken any measures? Do we have a null position?

How can you compare Jim and both countries have little urbanisation on the scale of Europe?
Your cities are young and open planned, for one thing you dont lack is space. Italy is a very old country with high density in old cities. Also we only have very dodgy data concerning a small minority of people.

We've seen what happens when more severe restrictions are enacted. The growth rate of new cases and deaths slows. This is simple stuff for the non-conspiracy minded.

Yes, the CCP and the W.H.O. coordinated to push the misinformation that masks were bad.

While someone coordinated groups to corner the market on masks, for China.

Our government advised against masks, sent tonnes of our masks to China, and is now backpedaling similarly.

It's well past time to examine why the W.H.O. is so bound to China, while their funding was coming from more open countries (mainly the US)

Yeah the surgical masks are mostly useless for the ininfected. But with now some 1 million infected people walking around, who do not know they are infected, it makes a difference. For one, the hassle of masks and shopping makes them plan less shopping trips.

Why be mealy-mouthed?

Are masks good, or not?

The health authorities tried to say they weren't good, to cover their shortage, but now are offering an opposite opinion.

We see them doing it. Best not to forget.

Now, what is the latest development, and how can we blame it on Trump and his racism?

Trump sounding just like Biden:
"Is it -- does it remind you of something? Reminds you of this. Right? Ones a swab, ones a Q-tip. It's actually different. It's very sophisticated actually but it's a little bit like -- so this is the swab and we've ordered a lot of them."

"It was hard to get it aroused and it is hard to get it aroused but we got it aroused."
(But sadly, no kissing)

"But we'll be doing testing at a level -- already we're doing testing at a level nobody's ever done before but we'll be doing testing at a level that the biggest tester in the world will be very happy very soon."

Confuses curves with lines:
"Well, they're -- the lines that you're -- we're famous for now, some are flat and some are up."

"Nervous Nancy is an inherently 'dumb' person. She wasted all of her time on the Impeachment Hoax. She will be overthrown, either by inside or out, just like her last time as 'Speaker'. Wallace & @FoxNews are on a bad path, watch!" -- Trump on Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 12:58 p.m. Sunday

"This is not a good thing that happened. It came out of China. So we're not -- we're not in a position where we're going to say much yet."

(Trump is hinting here at the idea that the coronavirus was created in a lab in Wuhan. The US government is reportedly looking into that possibility but officials have cautioned it's too early to draw any hard-and-fast conclusions.)

"No, no, we're going to be safe. We have to be safe. We don't want to close anything. We're not going to be closing. But we're going to be doing it beautifully, systematically."

(Space force will help us now!)

We inherited a lot of garbage. We took -- they had tests that were no good. They had -- all the stuff was no good. It came from somewhere, so whoever -- whoever came up with it."

(Fact check: False.)

50. "And we even have Space Force. Mike and I were talking about what an achievement that is. First time in 72 years, we have a new force."

Simple:Surgical masks will not save you from being infected. Not at all. N95 masks will. To some extent. Not completely.
