Sweden (I hear) has decided not to take the drastic isolation measures. I wonder how they are doing.
Also, Taiwan seems to have AMAZING results (very few deaths, few cases) and that could be another interesting study.
That train was a weird story, but I think the weirdness always happens, but while under lockdown, it is going to look weirder than ever.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
What goths do at home during lockdown.
Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Sweden: Currently not doing great. Compared to neighburing Norway which has a shutdown: About the same number of identified infected people, but more than 5 times the number of deaths. Also, the interesting part is still to come: Starting next week we should clear results of the shutdowns in the numbers. Let's see how Sweden fares then compared to countries with shutdown.Cunt wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 3:35 pmSweden (I hear) has decided not to take the drastic isolation measures. South Korea: Started measures very early when only few people were infected. Very low number of different infected people arriving at that time from China. Compared to European countries being invaded by lots of different infected people from the epicentres in Austria, Northern Italy and Spain. South Korea has no exponential growth of the number of infected people, but they still have fast linear growth. Let's see what happens next week when growth should be reduced to low linear growth in European countries with shutdown.
What train?
Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Since a lot of the early data (China's, Iran's) was 'suspect' at BEST, we are going to (in my opinion) have more reliable data coming in now that the problem is being managed by a lot more trusted countries.NineBerry wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 4:28 pmSweden: Currently not doing great. Taiwan is an interesting one, because of the political situation, their experience dis-trusting the Chinese Communist Party, and their infection and death rates.
Plus, Canada's chief health boss has been advising against masks. Trudeau sent our stockpile to China early on, so it might be the 'party line', rather than health advice, if you know what I mean. Masks have been a significant part of Taiwan's intervention. They even hand them out. (without falsely claiming their efficacy)
Some American (Florida-man?) tried to hit one of the hospital ships with a train. I don't know much about it yet, but I'm going to stick my neck out and make a bet early.
What train?

He was a California Man. They're challenging Florida. We'll win, though, because we have redneck stupid on our side.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Well, no. We still don't know what's going on. The Mass Media doesn't report the bullshit conspiracy theories of a lunatic, idiot."You only get this chance once. The whole world is watching. I had to. People don't know what's going on here. Now they will," Moreno allegedly told a California Highway Patrol officer who apprehended him immediately after the incident.

Hey now, California has rednecks too!

Just drive inland a ways, and you'll see plenty of mullets, Metallica tank tops, El Caminos up on cinder blocks, and of course, dismantled lawn mowers.
Although I suppose if I'm being honest, proper southern rednecks would probably eat our rednecks for breakfast.

All the crazies west of the Rockies flow into California, east they flow to Florida. We drain a larger area.

I'm not so sure about that. Some of them seem to have stayed put.
