Dutch panic buying is the best panic buying...Sex clubs in Amsterdam's "red light" district have closed down and long lines continue to form at marijuana coffee shops after the Netherlands imposed tight restrictions to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Who is panic buying? It is mostly tourists who are panic buying marijuana.JimC wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 5:29 amhttps://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-17/ ... l/12061540

Once again over the top reporting of numbers but some people swallow it hook, line and sinker. Still using imaginative phrasing to sow panic.
We have 1413 cases. That is 0,0083% of the population but words like 'could' and 'probable' are bantered around as if they are facts. If there are 10,000 that is still only 0,6 of the population. 24 are dead and no one under 59 and all suffering other complaints
It is all too convenient. There is so much going on politically and economically it is all very handy. The virus will be blamed for years.

The source has never been found. Only suspicion of where it came from. Similar to AIDS. Animals to humans. All very convenient.

Just stating some simple facts. You dont have to be Galaxian to do that. You cant see the convenience of such a world wide incident? We have only 6000 deaths globally so why all the fuss. It is not a deadly virus to young people in fact they only get minor symptoms. It just does not add up by any stretch.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
The source is known and well documented: it's a virus commonly found in bats. Bats were traded as so-called warm meat in the Wuhan market that is the root of the outbreak. It's transfer across species makes Covid-19 a xenotropic virus.Scot Dutchy wrote:The source has never been found. Only suspicion of where it came from. Similar to AIDS. Animals to humans. Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Given what we know from the early stages of the outbreak in China, the infection and mortality rate etc, we in Europe appear to be in the early stages of the contagion. The action of governments here is to flatten the rate if infection to avoid overwhelming health services, because while medical interventions in the more extreme cases are broadly effective if the health system is swamped by a sudden surge both primary deaths from the infection and secondary deaths from people with other condition will spike because health services will be unable to admit patients into a system already running at maximum capacity.Scot Dutchy wrote:Just stating some simple facts. Next week we'll read
There's only one million cases! That's not even half the population. And only a few thousand deaths, no one under 12! And they all had had a cold in one of the previous years!
