I remember back in the day, when borders were fascist.
Canada just closed ours to non-citizens, and to citizens showing symptoms (that latter part seems cowardly and dickish)

Yeah, I got 'got'. I thought the national response was weak, so was ready to believe that they snapped-to.
Another that 'got' me was the big US military operation in Europe. It was cancelled, but many were saying it was still going on.

They are currently practicing how to retreat from a country in lockdown
Re: The Coronavirus Thread
It's confusing to me, but then I wouldn't know 'normal', as it pertains to military operations during a crisis such as this.

You are in Germany, if I am not mistaken. Have you any direct view on some of this?

That was a bit of a random sample, but the thing about the qanon group is that it IS random people.
It's weird, but it's like wikipedia for news, with a dash of conspiracy theory. If you can enjoy bullshitters (a.k.a. - nearly all humans) then it is fine. If, alternately, you are only open to firmly vetted news, you probably can get that somewhere and find joy in it. I prefer the riotous and untamed.

I still appreciate your willingness to go out on a limb, with your statement that (if I recall correctly)Hermit wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 10:45 pmLol. Have a look at that particular twitter's profile."We are Q" 'Nough said?
'q isn't a white house insider'.
There was a retweet by trump today or yesterday, about handwashing. During a transition, an 'O' turned into a 'Q', but that doesn't mean anything.
One common refrain by q and qanon was 'how many coincidences before it is mathematically impossible'.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
That twitter you cited does not spread news. He makes shit up. Here's a somewhat more sober take on the military exercises. I hope The Daily Signal is sufficiently right wing for you to lend some credence to. What's more, the article's author has som real boots on the ground experience about what he writes.Cunt wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 10:47 pmThat was a bit of a random sample, but the thing about the qanon group is that it IS random people.

While U.S. military planners didn’t call out Russia by name, exercises like Defender-Europe 20 are clearly meant to show Moscow that the U.S. is willing and able to defend its European allies by force.
[...]
Totaling roughly $1 billion in 2014, the ERI was meant to be a temporary measure to deter Russia from military provocations and show NATO and its European partners that the U.S. was committed to their defense.
However, since taking office, the Trump administration has boosted spending for the Obama-era program, now known as the European Deterrence Initiative, underscoring that the Russian threat to NATO and its European partners has not dimmed since 2014.
With about $6 billion pledged for the program in fiscal year 2020, the number of American troops scheduled to rotate in and out of Europe was set to ratchet up this year.
“This exercise is not a one-off,” Heritage’s Carafano said of Defender-Europe 20. “This will be the new normal. The U.S. has to demonstrate it can reinforce Europe quickly. It’s a key component of conventional deterrence.”

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
It would be increasing exponentially without the lockdown measures. And your cases are only tested cases. A lot more people will be infected without being tested.Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 2:25 pmExponentially?
