He doesn't stand for anything. He's a run of the mill centrist career politician. Don't get me wrong, he's vastly preferable to even the best Republican, but my feeling toward him is 'meh'. He's emblematic of the status quo that led to Trump being elected.pErvinalia wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 2:41 amHow do the lefties here (particularly the Merkin ones) feel about Biden as a candidate? How many of the Bernie supporters will simply not turn up to vote if it's Biden?Seabass wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 3:05 amHe doesn't stand for anything. I hope they do vote for him. The alternative is just so bad.

Enough to ensure another four years of Trump.

Re: US Election 2020
I wonder how many potential ALP supporters could not bring themselves to vote ALP in the last election here because of Shorten?

Re: US Election 2020
As a leftie I want some level of care to be under a universal coverage, for all. I think the Bernie plan was not going to get thru in 4 years. Bernie or Biden, either old man will serve onlt 4 years. That's enough to undo most of Trump. Warren would have got us more healthcare
Re: US Election 2020
The biggest appeal Biden has for me is he worked in a normal White House, and knows how it's supposed to work. It might help to undo some of the damage Trump has done.
Other than that, Biden is just a mediocre establishment Democrat.

Mediocre is what we get. We don't need a president that goes batshit crazy about the economy and is unable to announce any lock down.
Re: US Election 2020
Do you think Bernie would agree to close borders at a time like this? He has sounded pretty 'open borders' so far...

Re: US Election 2020
Stop it with your "open borders" bullshit. Nobody has ever advocated such a policy. It's just another right wing talking point wrung out by execrably twisted interpretations of what some Democrats have said, and you know it.

I certainly wouldn't disagree with you here. I will, however, take into account your bias, and your focus.

Re: US Election 2020
Using that article to argue that the Dems have an open border policy is precisely the sort of execrably twisted interpretations I just mentioned. You're just trolling me now.Cunt wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 1:37 pmhttps://www.washingtontimes.com/news/20 ... ers-part-/
