'Trump wants to cut corporate rate again, Mulvaney says'

A top administration official said today that President Donald Trump wants to cut the corporate tax rate again, to 20 percent from the current 21 percent.

Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney also said a proposal to index capital gains taxes for inflation is also on the table as the administration crafts its long-promised plan for a second round of tax cuts.

“We need to do the second part of the tax bill — we really do, Tax Cuts 2.0,” said Mulvaney, when asked about the president’s top priorities should he win a second term.

It will end up being decided non-democratically. The Dems won't go with the candidate who gets the most votes (they have some arcane ritual to choose that is satisfactory, but not a 'popular vote' count) The US won't go with the candidate who gets the most votes (electoral college)

But I think there is a good chance that between his entertainment value and the walkaway movement, we'll see more of what he wants.

I think your forecast may turn out to be accurate. Just to note that Republicans also engage in the arcane ritual of state party caucuses instead of genuine primary elections. It's a knuckle-headed American thing; neither party can lay exclusive claim to the buffoonery.

Biden pretty much whiffed in making a big point of showing how much he's been willing to work with Republicans. No surprise there, either in Biden stepping on his own dick, or in the Democratic electorate being less than enthusiastic about his story.
