1) I did not write "it's tough to find respect for republicans". It's actually quite easy to find respect for anyone who has earnt it, Republican, or not.

2) Popularity does not equal respectability.

3) Even if popularity did equal respectability, Hillary Clinton would be more respectable than Donald Trump by 2,868,692 votes.
