I've been a leftie my whole life. Trump, however bad the Republicans are, seems to be showing a lot of the worst of the Democrats, by getting the spotlight on them at the right time.

He did a 'racism' when he said the Squad should go back where they came from. Do you remember what legislation he passed while everyone was having a stroke about his rude comment?

Trump didn't pass any legislation because presidents don't pass legislation. Perhaps you're thinking of executive orders, but the only notable executive order put out by Trump during that period was in regards to his failed attempt to have a citizenship question included in the next US census. He also vetoed a bill which would have withdrawn US support for the Saudi war in Yemen.

The US House of Representatives passed a number of bills and resolutions in late July and early August of last year. The US Senate, a somewhat lesser number (Mitch McConnell preferring to sit on legislation rather than letting it get to the floor of the Senate). Notable was the bill that finally established a 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund, as well as a budget resolution, a bill to provide relief to US farmers who've taken a serious financial hit due to Trump's trade war, and a bill increasing the US military budget.

Well, when he does something which attracts so much impotent media attention, I always get suspicious that it's a distraction. Then, Tim Pool (a news aggregator/commentator ) mentioned that something important happened when everyone was freaking out over that comment. Honestly, I don't remember what it was, but it explains stuff like that better than simply assuming Trump is stupid.

OK. I don't assume Trump is stupid. He's nowhere near as intelligent as he thinks he is, but nobody other than he and devoted MAGA™ numpties believe in his self-proclaimed vast wisdom and intelligence. I've said before that I think he's probably slightly above average in intelligence. He does appear to be slipping though, showing what may be early symptoms of age related dementia.

Since you're unlikely to spend the time to follow through and convey the deep insights of Tim Pool on the news of that period, neither will I spend any time considering what he could have been talking about. Given the nonstop US media coverage of Trump's actions and those of the US Congress, I tend to doubt that stories about the reaction to his blithering about Democratic women in Congress drowned out media attention to more important matters. There are people who only seem to pay attention to Trump's shitposting and ill-considered remarks, but that's on them, not on the media.

Nah, it doesn't matter. I was just making the point that he controls the media. He seems to use many tactics I recognize from WWF ('Rasslin) in the 80's. I'm sure he uses other tactics too, but I recognize those.

Back to more fun conspiracies, it looks like Trump fouled up their Iowa caucus. See, he invested money, in the name of Mayor Pete, into a company that made the app that 'tabulated' the results. Then caused the results to fail, tricked Pete into declaring victory, then revealed the Pete/Shadow connection.

I like that one because I invented it. It's already better than the 'Russian Collusion' one from 2016

Democrats are campaigning on an open borders, free college, and free medical fantasy land

Trump has focused on the economy and working people and the economy is very, very good. Unemployment is low and worker wages have gone up. Trump renegotiated 'very unfair' trade deals with Mexico, Canada, and China in Trump's favor.

I don't believe the mainstream of the Dems are campaigning on open borders. I put as much stock in your opinion on this as I did on your ridiculous belief that the senate impeachment trial would lead to the downfall of Biden.

Regarding free education and health, plenty of places in the world do that. And not surprisingly they rank higher than the US in terms of social metrics.
