Re: The Trump Impeachment
I have a bad feeling impeachment will end very boringly.
Justice Roberts will dismiss impeachment for lack of violating any 'criminal code', let alone impeachable offence. Trial get's skipped, Trump get's unimpeached as the original charge declared legally invalid. Booooring.

A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Trump/Barr have NSA in their pocket, unlike the struggling FBI:
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said Sunday that the U.S. intelligence community is beginning to withhold documents on Ukraine from Congress as lawmakers prepare for the impeachment trial of President Trump.
"They appear to be succumbing to pressure from the administration," Schiff said on ABC's "This Week."
"The NSA, in particular, is withholding what are potentially relevant documents to our oversight responsibilities on Ukraine but also withholding documents potentially relevant that the senators might want to see during the trial," he added, referring to the National Security Agency.

The House investigation is done, and any more Ukraine meddling by them would interfere with the Senate impeachment process..... and the criminal prosecution of the Bidens and friends.

There was no crime. Using daddy's name, yes. Is that illegal? There was no connection between Joe, Burisma and Ukraine. The proscutor fired was not prosecuting. He was taking money not to prosecute.

Re: The Trump Impeachment
A newer Fox article contains much of the same gibberish, that abuse of power (no matter what) is not impeachable. But it does quote Democrats too.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/20/politics ... index.html"The Senate itself is on trial, as far as I'm concerned, and the jury is the American people," Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin said on "Meet the Press," revealing the Democratic tactic of making life as uncomfortable as possible for Republican senators as the trial gets underway.
"A fair trial, everyone understands, involves evidence. Evidence would be documents and witnesses," Durbin said. "At this point, you know, the Senate is on trial. And I hope at the end of the day enough Republican senators will understand history will find you. Make certain that you make a decision that you can live with in terms of our Constitution and your own professional career."
In their own detailed filing issued over the weekend, Democrats made the case that the Senate's expected failure to convict Trump of impeachable crimes would change the presidency forever.
"His misconduct challenges the fundamental principle that Americans should decide American elections, and that a divided system of government, in which no single branch operates without the check and balance of the others, preserves the liberty we all hold dear," the Democratic brief said.

Re: The Trump Impeachment
House responds to Trump lawyers' bogus claims.
President Trump maintains that the Senate cannot remove him even if the House proves every claim in the Articles of impeachment. That is a chilling assertion," the House managers wrote in their nine-page brief. "The Framers deliberately drafted a Constitution that allows the Senate to remove Presidents who, like President Trump, abuse their power to cheat in elections, betray our national security, and ignore checks and balances. That President Trump believes otherwise, and insists he is free to engage in such conduct again, only highlights the continuing threat he poses to the Nation if allowed to remain in office."

Trump could not say that. With Biden getting all the black votes. But she would!

MLK would have voted for Trump for sure. They've both been treated very unfairly by the very bad, biased media and the deep state. SAD!

Re: The Trump Impeachment
Roberts does not have that role. Someone from the parties involved needs to make a move for dismissal. The Senate then votes on that.Tyrannical wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 10:20 pmI have a bad feeling impeachment will end very boringly.
